Disappointed that the line of Daughters ruling the family had come to an end, she never the less brought her son Sombra back home with her to install him as the new leader. Sombra and Solaris were quite pleased when it came time to have their eggs. Five potential Heirs graced their nest. The waiting was hard on both of them, and Sombra took out his frustraitions on other members of the clan from time to time, yelling and screaming, puffing himself up to look bigger. Once once did he try to claw someone- His target has been Alexander, one of the newest members of the lair, still a young dragon. Staria didn't even acknowlage the new wound on her wing, glaring hard at Sombra. he raised a claw to swipe at her a second time for blocking the first hit, but a sound of someone's voice being cleared caught his attention, and he looked up to see Three large Guardians nearby - too far to have stopped the hit themselves, but no less angry about it. Sombra reigned in his anger enough to storm off instead, flinging stones at the walls of the lair, while the trio of guardians checked on their smaller family. Crow took Alexander to his mother, while Tisima and JackPumpkin checked out Staria's wound. Some time after, Sombra's eggs finally hatched, ad the heirs to the Clan were born. Three boys and Two girls. Not only was there a good chance of passing down leadership to one of his sons, but several of the hatchlings had very strange eyes indeed, something not seen before in the lair. The children grew into fine dragons, despite their unique eyes. Sombra taught them all they needed, and the day finally arrived where they would battle eachother in the Arena to determine who would take over. Runjo, Etrage and Batura entered first, but only Etrage returned. Rosa and Citrus went next, Rosa announced her victory, but too soon. Etrage and Rosa were sent in together, but Rosa's victory screetching was not audiable this time. Etrage with his multitudes of eyes was the one to return. As Sombra held out his claws to welcoem the next heir of the family, Etrage tore into him, sending Solaris running. the battle still spinning in Etrage's head. He returned to the Clan some time later, cleaned of his experiences and silent. With many more eyes came much more knowlage. It was very hard to hide things from him, and the overstimulation during battle had maddened him for a time, having to track two siblings - tails and wings, teeth and claws all at the same time, then being sent right back in agaisnt his sister, his mind has lost it's calm rational when he'd rejoined his parents. The concequences were not what he had wanted in a calmer mind, but there was nothing to be done about it now. The Clan needed a Leader, and he had won the right in his family's traditions. For a long time after, Etrage lead the clan quietly, watching everyone going about their familiar daily business. He noticed the Nocturnes often went out for much longer then they should, that others whipered when they thought he wasn't looking but he always had one of his many eyes open... even if it was just a small one at the end of his tail. He knew what was coming. They were making plans of some kind, and he could easily guess that after so many generations with what he could assume was his family's unwanted ways. Maybe it was time to change the family's path... He saw where she landed, but didn't go to speak to her, returning to his clan instead. the next day he went on another flight, and saw the same female again, a Coatl, taking off from the same space. For several days he flew the area, watching her come and go, slowly finding himself more and more interested in her. She had values very similar to Etrage's own family, it was familiarity that drew him in. She wanted to Rule, he already Ruled, surely they could rule together? Aretha accepted his proposal, and returned with him to the clan to get to know her new subjects. Time would allow an Heir of their own to take over things one day.

The day finally came that Aretha and Etrage had their first clutch of Eggs, and they were lucky enouhg to have a full nest of five. Etrage was overjoyed, his many eyes kept shifting to look at the eggs from every angle he could manage. Their children would be beautiful. He was so happy about the eggs that he forgot for a time that the clan he led, wasn't too pleased with his family up to this point, his forbearers being evil tyrants and all. soon after, hatching day arrived. He'd take one at a time and focus on them, cuddling them and nuzzling them each in turn. He was very glad that none of them had been born with the same multi-eyed condition as he had. As they grew, their training to lead the clan began. While still young Etrage sometimes had to be the punching bag to stop the fights between his children, he got poked in the eye on accident more then anyone else ever had, due to his eyes being all over his body. As his children grew, Aretha joined in on the training, teaching them what Etrage had learned from his family - you fight to survive or you don't survive at all. Etrage wasn't sure he wanted that for his children, he remembered the day he took his father's life. He tried to raise his kids to be gentler, but Aretha was a force unto herself, and her training stuck.. fights broke out more often, Etrage got poked in the eye on accident more often, and as his children grew the fighting from sibling things like who got the larger piece of food, turned to training against each other for the day they would officially do battle. Etrage could not step in to stop them anymore.. He did have other duties to attend to as ruler of the clan after all, and the children were quickly becoming adults. The time came for the battle to happen, and though Etrage was not looking forward to it, Aretha insisted on the battle happening. Etrage could only frown, he knew something she didn't, and he feared it would be more then his family could handle. As he and his family started heading for the Coliseum, he noticed movements in the thorn vines and undergrowth. He knew the battle would not be in the arena this time.
The day finally came that Aretha and Etrage had their first clutch of Eggs, and they were lucky enouhg to have a full nest of five. Etrage was overjoyed, his many eyes kept shifting to look at the eggs from every angle he could manage. Their children would be beautiful. He was so happy about the eggs that he forgot for a time that the clan he led, wasn't too pleased with his family up to this point, his forbearers being evil tyrants and all.

soon after, hatching day arrived. Into the world came 5 little imperials;

As adorable as they were, all curled up together, and all of them having spotted Jaguar patterns as well as the crackled markings, it gave Etrage headaches to look at them for too long, but his love for them was sure.
