Be glad, the battle option is disabled for the coliseum here D:

@Cleaver - Are your dragons higher level than the area youre battling in? If they are too high level they will stop getting experience at some point.
@Dracos - Make sure you have a dragon on your team. Yesterday for some reason my dragons were removed and once I put them back on the buttons lit up for me again and I was able to go on as normal.
