I need a better motivator to play FR consistently & may have gotten overly attached to my Pinkerlocke dragons, so a new kind of run it is! Something a little more deadly will probably help desensitize me (I hope)..
Run will be considered complete only when a Royal makes it to level 25 OR there is one dragon per 20 jobs.
Bonus rounds via Crim may be used on occasion when motivated enough.

Starting Dragon Trio

Royalty was determined thru an online dice roller and selected from 1 of 3 of the cheapest adult ready to breed dragons on the Auction House. For the first three I optionally elected to have only moderns so breeding would be possible early on. From here forwards though, Ancient breeds will be rolled for.

Icedrifter is the young daughter of a traitorous advisor whose family was forced to flee to the Scarred Wastelands after the murder of the queen her father advised. She takes closely after her father, being ambitious enough to try to found her own kingdom but bolder in not hiding in the shadows her true intentions. She finds her father cowardly and a failure for not finishing the job.

Gaelan is a mercenary fleeing from the law enforcement of the Turrets of Goldensparc and taking refuge in Icedrifter's territory. As recompense, he can often be found patrolling and demanding "border crossing tolls" from random passerby. He's probably got hatchlings that don't know he exists. Most of his funds tend to be blown on weapons, drinking, and other creature comforts.

Iruera is a disgraced former archivist from Lanternlea Port who was caught falsifying data to benefit his own studies and expelled from the local college he worked at in addition to the scholar's guild. He denies ever doing so, citing a grudge from the college dean as the reason he was fired. His refined tastes leave him abhorrently disgusted at the state of his current living conditions in the Scarred Wastelands.

Pinkerton's find:
[item=Workshop Monitor]
Familiars: Buy the cheapest level 1 dragon in the auction house of a specific breed. Use a random number generator (between 1-18) to determine which breed you will get!
A four was rolled, so the cheapest Pearlcatcher was bought.

Iruera was the one usually tasked with daily errands, as Gaelan lacked the responsibility to do them efficiently or even correctly at all. When he had traveled to the nearest available merchant's market for some basic necessities, he had expected to purchase overpriced goods, not bring home a hatchling. But the street urchin had been cornered by several guards for stealing food from a cart, and Iruera didn't think his sense of justice was skewed enough to ignore it.
Faking being the parent of the Pearlcatcher in question, Iruera talked down the guards with a promise of strong discipline and a bribe of enough treasure to make them walk away. When the child attempted to flee after the guards left, Iruera grabbed them by the edge of a wing and offered a better place to stay. The Pearlcatcher child agreed, although not without reluctance. When asked a name, they gave the word Zanven.
Even better, Icedrifter was pleased to have another member of her newly founded kingdom even if Zanven was too young to contribute much yet, her age meant manipulation was easier for her.

Patrolling robots can never just be cute, can they? Do they really have to have multiple limbs and no face?

Insects: 20-30 matches
Seafood: 30-40 matches

As only three dragons are capable of battle in the coliseum within the kingdom at this point in time, the coli challengers defaulted to Icedrifter, Gaelan, & Iruera this time.

...Iruera sprained his ankle and had to sit out for the battles.
(For Iruera, as an aside, the very first battle we entered was against a Primrose Mith & Glowing Pocket Mouse. They both shot off neutral bolts before we could even attack and eliminated him immediately in the worst case of RNG possible in coli. After a lot of back and forth internal debate, it was decided by me to keep him alive for now as coli with only two dragons past the Training Fields is not viable for a nuzlocke in my opinion.)
Icedrifter had all the adult dragons take place in a combat exercise, leaving Zanven alone at the lair with a snack and some toys to entertain herself with. She and Gaelan did excellently against the local Mith population, especially with Gaelan's prior experience as a mercenary to take down foes. Iruera did not fare as fortunately, and sprained his ankle during the first battle dodging a bolt of neutral magic from an angry Primrose Mith. He sat out and watched, but did not gain any experience.

[item=Charged Acuity Fragment]
Battle items: UhOh. Flip a coin and follow the result.
Heads = Beast Clan Attack. The beast clans attack your kingdom in a full onslaught!!! Roll a 1d12 for every dragon including your royal. Any dragon who rolls a 1 is exalted or loses a life.
Tails = DEATH STREAK. Randomly select three dragons using a random number generator. Assassins are exempt. Fight in the coliseum at the highest dragons level using the "food" rules, 10 rounds consecutively (ie. you cannot leave that arena), quitting midway if a dragon dies.
A coin was flipped. It landed on tails.

On the way home from the mercantile market, a group of thieves ambushed the trio, forcing them to fight not only for their newly bought goods but their own lives. In the end eventually, the thieves' bodies lay prone around them. Without a word, Gaelan went ahead and went through their belongings to take anything valuable for the kingdom's enrichment, leaving the area behind.
After that incident, Gaelan reflected upon himself, how he'd once been in those thieves' shoes. He decided to create with his claws and not destroy (unless necessary).
