As time went on, as the community grew, unanticipated situations arose that necessitated rules being added “on the fly” so to speak. This is not uncommon on any site, especially in young communities - it’s not possible to foresee every situation or manner in which an individual may choose to harass or otherwise have a negative impact in the community. For the last few months, we worked to address this issue. After a great deal of research and discussion within the team, we created the Code of Conduct. We want to provide you with a clear, comprehensive understanding of our goals and expectations of our community, in its current form and as it grows. We understand someone might have a bad day or even just have that one disagreement that causes them to lose their cool. That’s why in almost all cases, a warning will be issued first. We don’t want to suspend players or close accounts and we will give you every opportunity to change and amend, barring egregious or reprehensible violations. If you are concerned about account actions and the Code of Conduct, please review our support article, Account Penalties. We are not opposed to reviewing the Code of Conduct at a future date as our community grows and its needs change. We have a responsibility to provide our community with a healthy and productive environment and the Code of Conduct establishes that.

After reviewing your feedback about the current Rules & Guidelines and in our ongoing efforts to provide a welcoming community with clear expectations of its members, we are updating our community policies to include a forum Code of Conduct. Click here to read more.

The Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct is based on our community philosophy:
 • Be respectful - there’s a person on the other side of the screen
 • Be helpful
 • Encourage responsible use of our forums and site and discourage disruptive or toxic behavior
 • Encourage the free flow of ideas and discussion while maintaining a civil, constructive, and creative space

Where can I find the Code of Conduct?

The Code of Conduct is located in our Policies & Support Articles. You can find this in our Encyclopedia and stickied at the top of each forum.

How will this affect the site?

In order for us to prepare for upcoming registration windows and our ultimate goal of open registration, we needed to update our community policies that is more comprehensive in the conduct we expect of our players.

Shortly after Flight Rising launched we implemented a basic set of rules, guidelines meant to keep the peace and maintain an atmosphere free of destructive or toxic behavior.

We do not foresee the majority of our community running afoul of the Code of Conduct.

We are not opposed to reviewing the Code of Conduct at a future date as our community grows and its needs change. We have a responsibility to provide our community with a healthy and productive environment and the Code of Conduct establishes that.
