( I am putting this up top because it is a long post and some of you can by-pass it if you don't feel effected. Likewise if you are at the table but want to by-pass it I made a jump to here point scroll you will see it. I obviously would like people to read the whole thing because I put time into the post and I want you to understand my people BUT it is long and I don't want people missing what matters. If you are at the table with the Empress my post will affect you! And Yes the second/middle quote is Norah's POV it runs parallel to Fae's/ the first quote.
Sorry I have been so long I have been quite sick, luckily Fey has a very good reason to not be there for those moments. As you will see if you read this.
Also I asked our awesome admins a question and will alter my answer should I be wrong(just ignore the telepathy in that case she can probably see the words on his face but I added it to show the depth of their friendship) it's minor but I put the beginning in here so you can learn a little more about Fey's family. If the tiny text here is to much you can read it here. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XR9hsGy0waffmHXMizXH4or4FMQZ4gtYce_BC3CvcG0/edit?usp=sharing
I am heading to work later so I may not get the chance to alter it before you read but I am long over due for a post so for those of you reading the whole thing ignore the last part of this OC here we go!
So I don't know where most of you are in relation one another or except for those of us around the Empress and despite reading I am not even sure who remains there. I am pinging everyone because Cecil caused what may or may not be quite a scene. Now there is a lot of confusion so some of you may not have noticed the giant shadow octopus that just tossed a dragon or two like a toddler may toss a toy across the room. But for those of you who are close and DO want to take note. Here is a ping)
The delighted ShopKeeper opens her jaws ready for a witty if jovial reply....then everything fell apart. A screech echos through the banquet and some compulsion turns Fey’s face confused face to her Empress paling more by the second. The sound thunk of the Empresses hitting the table. The world slows and thoughts grind hard against the alcohol in the mother’s system to understand...Eggs...Gone...Her Eggs...My egg?..My...BABY MY BABY BAY MYBABY! Once realized the mantra goes on as the singular focal point of Fey’s thoughts. Her head whips back and forth, bad idea her drunkenness makes her see double. “NORAH!” Norah wasn’t at the other Table anymore! Where! Where! My Baby, precious baby!
“MoMA!”
In the labyrinth of scales and tails she can’t find the tiny voice or the waving paw. Higher. Four, four toed paws crash down next to the Empress's collapsed head, plates upturn, dishes skid splashing Fey’s underside and the dragon beside her, all has been forgotten all but the pursuit of baby. “NoRAAAH!” Dark memories aided by a drugged mind threaten to flood the Pearl Catcher but adrenaline is a wonderful duelist and fights Fey’s battle. Ignoring the other dragons as they begin to enclose her and the Empress her head swivels painfully slowly. She leaps down from the table and is shoved hard by on coming dragons her drunkeness making her feet clumsy she falls. The cacophony of the event is but a murmur in Fey’s mind.
“moMAAAAAAAAAAA!!”
The little voice turns shrill in high pitched scream.
Locating the source Fey dives back into the fray. Cecil No!

“NORAH!” All about Norah dragons are swarming in an endless sea of bodies. Cecil her ever watchful mentor hovers above her quickly losing composure. “MoMA!” The little Catcher can just make out the sky fur of her mother at a table. Then the the swarm takes even this away. Voices scream panic ensues what is even happening? She scrabbles from her own table and then is crushed by another, a dark hiss pulls from the cotal above her, Norah’s eyes just managing to glimpse familiar purple feathers. “Cecil, Ah, you are crushing me.”
Impressioned as she is her feet crawl forward as his do further into the horde. They are now closer to her mother’s table but also totally lost from sight. “Cecil!” His snake like head whips down to her. She gasps. Nothing in that face is even remotely recognizable peridot eyes glow like ghost fire, pupils contracted to pinpoints he hisses, anaconda like teeth centimeters from her his breath smelling of fish and sea.
“NoRAAAH!”
Her mothers voice distracts him and then something terribly amazing happens. Black tendrils shoot out of the ground a ring of shadow connecting them all and a vein of shadow from each leading back to the duo. The tiny head of Nori’s look up at the male above her and quietly, mentally rehearsing the step her mother had given her if ever he should go so far. Step 1: Say Calm. Step 2: R-”
“RAHHHHHH!SHHHHHHH!” A dragon shoved Fey, it now unwilling soars/is tossed through the air as one of the ten tendrils snakes around it’s ankle and rips it from the ground. Suddenly there is a lot of space around Norah and Cecil and best of all Moma was running there way!! Cecil lifts a little from the Pearl beneath him in eagerness to welcome the Pearl closing in on them. His face drops some as it is not him who is welcomed back.

Gentle paws collect the sweet sweet body of her little baby. Not so little anymore but forever little in Fey’s mind. “Norah~” It’s a sigh of relief, relief that is interrupted as a cotal tries to protectively collect both of them under him, something impossible given the length of his legs.
“Cut it out CE-CIL!” Fey tips her head to the side to avoid gutting him.
He gives her the same unrecognisable face he gave her daughter and hisses trying to drag them under him, protect them from everyone.
Fey is not one to be so cowed wrenches herself and her baby forward the inch he had gathered. Another dragon that so foolishly neared them is tossed.
“Cecilll~” The mother’s voice is soft and tired. She reaches a paw to gather his jaw, fingers straining to stroke behind his crest. “Just Stop, this is unnecessary. I am fine. Norah is fine. Stop.” Pinpoint pupils regard her for a moment more before the shadows recede and vanish.
“Forgive me...” He looks down then, tips his head as head, eye closing as she continues to stroke behind his feathered crest.
Fey uses his distraction to extract herself and the rest of her baby from under the cotal. “It’s okay. I know you were just trying to help.” As she speaks kindly, slowly backing away from him. Norah not quite understanding but feeling the importance of this scene stay blessedly quiet.
Mother and Daughter have almost gotten away, Fey’s paw withdrawing as a pair of sharp teeth claps dangerously against her wrist.
Cecil watches her cautiously.
“Cecil. The Empress has lost her eggs I need to go help her.”
The Empress has attendants. I need to find someplace safe to keep you.
“Moma Bears HELP other Moma Bears Cecil!” Frustrated at the time she is losing Fey’s voice is hard and commanding, too much so as his inversed teeth bare down harder and parallel rivulets of scarlet drip down Fey’s wirst.
Nori trembles and can’t stop her tiny gasp in fear, catching Cecil’ attention.
Fey jerks her wrist to divert the dangerous Cotals attention from her baby. She smiles sweetly, sadly and pushes her damaged wrist forward ignoring the pain as her skin splits along his teeth. Recollecting his face with that hand her voice is as soft, patient, a voice for the dying. “Cecil...-” She tips his face up the sway of her voice is a cumulouse bed in the presence of a storm. Her storm should this not work. Her eyes bares the memories of years spent to together as she called the childhood they both share, a gentle breeze plas around them. “-my knight.” Her voice echoes in his soul like an angel for the dead. “You know where you must be and it is not here. Save the children so they will not be like our misfortune. Go and do what you do best.”
As her arm is sliced open Cecil immediately releases her only to have his shocked glance be met with eyes that shut out all else. His Queen, His Goddesses, His heart, She rips something inside him and he melts internally. Her words caress him like a summer wind and bring back the memories they shared. He signs on the verge of tears the taste of her blood still thick on his tongue as she leaves him. His breath scarcely a whisper. “Yes....My Queen.” And so he vanishes into the crowd to find those who so wronged the Queen of his Queen.
-----------Jump here if you don’t care to read it all.------------------
Fey canters a three legged run back to the table Nori clutching her back. She shoves her way back to the seat in time to her the Varr leader screaming for messengers. Norah for lack of space jumps onto the table eyes wide she stares at the fallen Empresses as one might should they discover a fallen angel. “She SOOO pretty!”
Fey wibbles her head no chastising the child for her honesty. Blood runs freely from Fey’s arm so she uses the other hand to dab moisture from Rage’s face. Really in all that time they have done nothing! A gentle breeze stirs coiling around Fey’s arm and the table bringing a sense of calm, weak easily overridden calm but it is hard when you are weak from a motherhood scare, bleeding, drunk and your adrenaline is wearing down. The tear is still bleeding but it begins to slow."Your Majesty, I have returned." Dipping her head fey whispers to the downed cotal. Maybe we should just let you sleep...I'll mobilize a crew to get you to safety if nothing changes.
(Thank You for reading! How many of you thought I was going to kill Fey? NAH that's like every other anime, mother ALWAYS dies. But NOPE this is a story about motherhood and the impossible struggles a mother will go through for her child. Plus I can't have Cecil as a character unless someone wants to give me a corrupted slot(2nd or 4th character of yours. You can have my non corrupted slot) Plus if I did kill Fey like that things would get really really dark fast. I mean Cecil would have kidnapped Nori, lost himself in his own darkness, probably stolen the eggs and be leading or working for a corrupted rebel force. He probably would force Norah to be his mate because he couldn't' have her mother....See look how bad an idea killing Fey would have been. NAH let's keep Mama Fey alive!)
Rage slowly woke up from her stupor and sighed as she quietly thanked those who had tried to help her. "I'm... fine." She said a bit louder and looked around her. You can keep one of them if you wish, but the rest are mine, and I will not tell you why I want them. Is that agreeable, Cringe?" The fact that she didn't add Cringe's title given by the Augur is a strong sign that she is very serious about this demand. Looking around again she took a deep breath and called out. "Augur! As this is considered an act of possible war, you are all to spread the following words. All hatchlings and drakelings under the age of Twenty and Five are to be sent to the Varr's Sanctuary. All Augur with the ability to forge are to start making armor and weapons, and those who are trained in battle are to return to the Varr's Training grounds where you will be placed within temporary guard duties according to the Varr's command. Non trained dragons will take up preparations for battle, such as the creation of salves and healing powders. If this is the first of an attack, we will be prepared.... And all Corrupted dragons are to make their way to the Training Grounds and wait for Ruin. So says the Empress of the Augur."

Did that mean that the guards knew the dragons that had come for them? Perhaps it meant that they used some sort of ability to keep the guards from knowing what was going on? That could be any number of corrupted dragons, but at least one of the guards should have been strong enough to break free from those abilities. What was going on? Ruin did not know, nor could he carry all of the corpses back on his own for testing. He decided he would send troops to pick up the rest of the corpses, but bringing one just in case wouldn't hurt.
Nearly sighing in relief as Rage came around, Shalim backed away from the coatl, giving her room. He took note of her shaky appearance prepared to tell the empress that she may need to lay down for a moment. Her threat towards the anonymous dragons rang clear in his mind. He has seen her become incredibly wrathful, threatening those who wronged her, but never calm like this... It was unsettling at most. Listening to her orders, Shalim walked up to the empress, his head bowed in respect, " Empress Rage. My name is Shalim, one of the scribes in the clan. If I may, is it acceptable to gather the scribes to prepare the required salves, healing supplies and the such?" He looked at Rage, head inclined, glancing over at Kailani. His familiar sitting by them.
Nearly sighing in relief as Rage came around, Shalim backed away from the coatl, giving her room. He took note of her shaky appearance prepared to tell the empress that she may need to lay down for a moment. Her threat towards the anonymous dragons rang clear in his mind. If you don't want to read all this prologue stuff about Faz, feel free to skip to the break!
Faz woke with a start and groggily looked around his lair. Every inch of his spacious abode was covered in fabric, metal bits, and all manner of odds and ends. Everything of course was meticulously organized in just barely manegable piles.
A few little machines on his desk were buzzing angrily at him. Rolling out of bed, Faz switched them off and made himself presentable. He paid extra time to stuff his satchels full of some equipment, just because he was late did not mean he would be unprepared.
Stepping out of his cave he decided he had no idea where he was actually going. Sure there was a party to attend, but he always had trouble with directions and the little scrap of paper one of his colleagues had given him with directions had gotten smeared with water. Grumbling to himself, the Augur inventor set off through one of the many tunnels.
As Faz made is way through the tunnels, the air seemed increasingly off somehow. With a quick swipe of his thin tongue be pressed on. Surely he should be getting close now, wouldn't he hear sounds of music and festivitys though?
Just has he resolved to turn around, the inventor stumbled upon Ruin carrying a wildclaw. Rather taken aback, he stared between the two dragons and nervously flicked his tongue. While he wasn't frightened of the Varr coatl, in fact he met him on numerous occasions, this was certainly the last expected situation to find themselves in.
"Ah, uh, good day Ruin Sir. It would seem I am late to the party."

Without anymore hesitation she nodded to Dickkets and Athame, then tossed her head towards the palace, "Come on, you heard orders, there's nothing more we can do but listen, follow orders, and prepare, although something tells me that it's not Varr that stole the eggs, maybe the corrupted dragons..." she trailed off, at this early on she couldn't assume anything until she got proper information, instead she followed the steady stream of Augur dragons and headed back to her shop. On the way to home she turned slowed to Dikkets' and Athame's pace, invited them to her home for a bit if they had nothing else in particular to do, or nowhere to go.
Only a fool would insist on keeping their eggs so close to the surface like that. The old Guardian hums in acknowledgement. Where else would they go? Deeper into the caverns, where the air was so still, scents lingered for days? Though Rage was a fool to keep her eggs unprotected, it was beginning to seem as though the thieves were even more foolish. The clutch would be recovered in no time, surely.
Wincing and drawing back his head, Icingdeath wished Her Cringiness wouldn't shout in his ear like that. He gave his head a light shake before he glanced back to the high table.
"She has not been out for long," he said, voice slightly raised to be heard by the curious medic over the din, "She should awaken in time." After all, there's no way a dragon could straight-up die of fright, right? If they could, Icingdeath was certain he would have seen it by now--or experienced it himself. The food splashed onto his lustrous scales gave him quite the shock. "What is the meaning of--!" Startled, he turned to watch a pearlcatcher (who had a few too many drinks) nearly step on the Augur leader as she bounded across the table and through the crowd. All he could do was stare in complete and utter confusion as shadowy tendrils flung dragons about and a coatl tried to act like a mother hen. He sneered and hissed in disgust at the corrupted monstrosity, and turned back to the gathered Varr.
"I pray the clutch is found soon, if only so we may return our attention to other matters."
