I've gotten a crossroads from another user for 8000 treasure for a dragon of mine, but every time I click accept it says not enough funds.
It most likely means the person you're trying to trade with doesn't have enough money. Double check with them and see if they do.
They may also not have enough lair space, or the dragon in question has a familiar or apparel.
