It's late into the night. Your feet drag over cobblestone steps. It's a struggle to keep your eyelids parted as you trudge between streetlights, looking for a place to rest your head until morning. You've been searching... searching for something. You've been searching for so long that you struggle to remember what you were even searching for in the first place. But you must go on.
It's almost 1 am when you finally realize you can't go any further. As luck would have it, you're less than a block from the local inn. You make your way toward it and stumble over the threshold, exhausted. A kind face behind the check-in counter asks if they can be of assistance, and you mumble an apology for your state and request a room, just for the night.
The receptionist nods their head and leads you to a short hallway with three doors.
1) The left wall of the hallway hosts an orange door. It looks as if someone took a pocket knife and carved something into the wood. A design of sorts? Your eyes struggle to focus on the details, but you see curls and curves in the grooves. From behind your shoulder, the receptionist's voice rings. "That one has feather pillows." (claimed by @/harmonybot)
2) The door at the end of the hall is made of a dark material, or at least painted so, but what you notice is the fuzzy light that seeps out from the gaps above and below the door. The light is a sickening shade of green that seems to flicker from within the room. Once again, the receptionist comments. "That room can make people sick." (claimed by @/Quixilver)
3) The door on the right wall of the hallway is a pale yellow color with a round glass window at eye level. The lights are off, so you can't make anything out inside, but you do notice that the glass has a few cracks stretching through it. It appears that one solid knock would shatter the window entirely. Finally, the receptionist chimes in once more. "That one has a nice view." (claimed by @/DejaBlu)
Which door do you choose?
