I don't think I've ever considered what my tail would be if i were to have one...
But if I did, I think a prehensile sort of tail would be helpful, kinda like a binturong. I would decorate it, but it would probably get in the way of the tail's usability and I don't typically decorate myself anyway so...
Alternatively, just the particle trail tail of my main mascot character. It isn't practical, but it is pretty.
The best of both worlds would probably be a mix of the two.

I'd probably go with something akin to a very flexible Hivewing tail (long and pointy, plus I like how the tip looks split in the ref art even if it is just due to the stinger) with prehensile abilities and fur running down the spine, but not all the way down (maybe about 1/3 or 1/5 down?)
As for colour I'd stick to the Hivewing theme and go with a light yellow that darkens up to the spine and the fur being stripey like Zebra manes

Fluffy Wolf Tail - not overly fluffy, just fluffy enough, usually in Black. or a Long Black Cat tail with short fur.
