I've been seeing lots of people with little images with test at the bottom of their forum posts and I think its super cute! I have NOOOO clue how to do the formatting, though. If you're talking about your forum signature(where the books are in mine) the best I can say is it's 500px by 100px and 500px by 95px(I think) using columns if you know how to use them. If not, maybe try when you've gotten a good handle with them first :D
The images come from other threads like this one or this one, pretty popular ones.
If you wanna format, I suggest testing it out in an empty dragon bio so the code doesn't look as cramped instead of pressing preview in the forum sig editor. Hope any of this helps you! I kinda felt like you meant sthm else, so apologies if this wasn't much help :P

To add on to what @/Catradora said, here's a good BBcode Compendium made by EldritchCrowe that also covers [color=green]colors[/color] and [i]the little buttons above the text box[/i].

for images, you normally need to copy its image address and paste it between the img tags:
