TOPIC | A way to wipe your account
deleting and wiping accounts are two very different suggestions, but i wouldn't be against either of them. i do, however, think that having the option to delete an account would be the better solution out of the two, as it both covers the desire to restart and the ability to erase yourself from the site if need be or otherwise desire. the ability to wipe an account seems kind of redundant with a system like that in mind, and i don't see any particular upsides to wiping an account vs deleting an account and starting over other than possibly keeping your forum presence, account age, and id, which isn't something i imagine most want to keep if they want a complete account do-over. those are my thoughts, anyways, when the particular urge strikes me - but then again i'm only one person, so i don't really know if other people share the same wants.
Don't get your hopes up. IIRC, asking to have your current account locked so you can start fresh is typically denied.
I wasn't saying you should write in the ticket "hey please lock account, I want a new one". I know some people had their accounts locked by asking in the past. And then there's nothing stopping you from creating a new one. Personally I think any website should have an option to let you delete your account.

There are some games that might do this... They call it Prestige... (they will double the income you get when you do this at the benefit of starting fresh with NOTHING but that doesn't apply here) however.. I'm on the fence with this:

its' just really easy to exalt the dragons for a fresh new lair along with selling everything and I mean EVERYTHING in your hoard Or with the use of the Hibernal den toss the dragons in there. (half the time I forget there's that option) that would only leave the gathering, treasure, gems and achievements to clear out if that is the case. I would agree to this if there were a few stipulations:

a PW confirmation "Please enter the PW for confirmation" with a BIG WARNNING that this will clear EVERYTHING (Gems, treasure, achievements, gathering turns, and settings) once this is confirmed and there IS NO WAY TO REVERT THIS OPTION. And you should only be allowed.. to do.. this.. ONCE. ONCE. no "pay this much gems or treasure to do this over and over again. Just ONE. time. That is theonly way I can see thsi working.

Keep in mind some people also wipe their accounts when they have decided to quit forever, and they don't want their abandoned account just floating around

can I ask why you need a button/option to wipe it if you want to restart? Delete account should be an option, but if you want to wipe your account you can just exalt all/hoardsell all and if you don't want the money just send it all to a random person on the currently online list.

are you wanting to recollect all the achievements or something? I just don't understand the need for a wipe account option.

Been casually following the thread since it was made, and I keep coming back to this same thought. Why does this need to be a whole feature taking up dev time when you can more or less do this process all on your own? Is it just for new progens? Or as it says in the quote, to reset achievement? What specific details make the proposed new feature different than just doing the process yourself with the systems we already have to clear out your account? I am sincerely curious. :o

Account less than a year old? Ask me about free dragons!
Bought and kept some of my fodder? Ask me about a free renaming scroll!

Does putting lore on dragons ever get less daunting?

It would take time to clean out an account maliciously like that, in which the owner has plenty of time to notice and contact support to put a stop to it.
and then support needs to act on the ticket, which is far from instantaneous. in the meantime your dragons are disappearing one by one and your hoard is getting cleared out. support might be able to get your dragons back to you but i don't see any recourse for the hoard. (note that this is a wild scenario anyway that i wouldn't seriously worry about unless your password is something ridiculous like 12345 lol) but hence 2FA to banish the problem before it pops up. don't we already need 2FA to log in? (i've been logged in Forever so i don't remember)
