basic my best friend... filmnoir is so nice to look at, obsidian always has fun gene accents but it looks really good even in just basic x,)

i love basic i can't lie. sometimes genes do too much and the look becomes overwhelming, especially with ancient linebreaker terts. a good skill is knowing when basic needs to be used

It's perfect on FilmNoir! The secondary could not be improved by a single available gene.
Strategic use of Basic is [i]criminally[/i] underrated, imo. It's the perfect gene to use beneath skins/accents with lots of small details or with similarly detailed terts like Augment!
Most other genes (with the exception of the more solid/unpatterned gene pairs like Met/Alloy and Iri/Shim) have too much pattern and make things really busy/muddied.
As a result, I have so...so many dragons with basic primary xD
(shockingly, this isn't even close to all of them)
