Lugar You're misunderstanding. Look at the male's far wing, where we see it from the same POV as the female's wings
His fade starts after the elbow, but her's starts right at the shoulder

why was it not cosnidered a consistency issue and thus allowed to change after that 45 day period ???
no but seriously it reads here
This issue is considered a technical issue as it is an inconsistency within the same breed,
i dont think a change this drastic should count as a technical issue as opposed to a consistency issue just because its an inconsistency across one breed. thats how were getting the same exact situation again that they were trying to avoid by introducing a time period after which consistency issues wont be corrected

Hippotang Ah, yes, now I see it! To be honest, I've never paid attention to that spot on the males before this thread, but I just looked through my dragons and it looks kinda out of place now.
I guess they extended that spot on the males so we'd get a similar effect of the primary blending into the secondary, just like we have on females.
But it would be hilarious if it's another consistency issue, though I don't see this one as being significant enough to warrant another change. But hey, who knows.

@Lugar Males actually always had that transition/fade point! Had to go back to the Fathom release post for it, but you can see the original Fathom F wings here, as well as the male still having the fade on the upper side of the wing

But the correction definitely doesn't line up lol

im in the “I didnt really have any affected dragons so I hardly noticed im sorry” camp, and I do actually like it better on some genes now. like, toxin looks better and more even imo, I like that it creeps up on the wingarm a bit. bee definitely looks strange but I kind of like it in that way since its Very showing of the opacity and I dont think other breeds wear it like that, so its got visual interest I suppose? but I definitely wouldnt say it objectively looks good.
I dont really object to the change in itself, but equally I wouldnt mind if they reverted it. my primary concern is on the If, I ASSUME theyre not going to revert it bc its been a bit since now but a statement saying either “no” “yes” or “we’re in the process of reviewing” would do wonders for me since I dont know what I should expect now, and this means practically im not going to touch f fathoms for a bit. its just troublesome not knowing if a scry I make is going to end up changed or not in the next few weeks. I DID actually know this change was coming since I obsessively stalked the gene error thread but like no I dont expect everyone to reasonably do that and sometimes the changes arent even labelled as under construction until its 90% done

I really don't understand why they went through all the work to change f fathom when the old transition looked really good, which reminds me.
How am I supposed to know which one is "wrong" out of the m pose and f pose?
Does FR just get to choose? Because if there's an inconsistency between the two breeds who gets to decide which one is "right"?
With a lot of technical errors it's easy to tell, but with this kind of thing it's rather subjective and the users have no way of knowing one is a mistake or not outside of FR telling them later on.

I think is perfectly acceptable and the idea that it "ruins" dragons is.. overblown at best. No, I seriously doubt your dragon is suddenly bad looking because 1 area changed color. I think it makes the dragons look better, and consistent with themselves. Some off the touch ups could use some touch ups, but they had to rush this since it was past the 45 day limit, although they made it clear.Either way people get angry even if the changes land there. I expect it to change more in the future and that's fine. I would be exhausted if it was reverted.

not a fan of the change, but, tbh I'm not really a fan of f!fathoms to begin with.
