In the coli there is a very rare chance that a dragon of the new breed will appear inplace of an enemy. It has the same chance as dropping the dragon as an enemy would the familiar. And no, you don't get a scroll or egg, you get the dragon itself

Any non-Progen dragon, when exalted, may randomly change into the new Ancient breed. The only way to keep the dragon is to use your once-every-three-months Exalt Restore. The pains one would have to go through to change an existing perma into the breed — there would be a 90-day wait between every attempt! Not to mention those that exalt lost Nuzlocke dragons or otherwise may wish to continue viewing their exalted dragons, only for them to irreversibly become a triple-Basic Ancient...

One player is chosen to be the ancient distributor, is given 10000x copies of the breed scroll and then told to go wild. We either get them costing a cazillion gems or giving them out to random people on the forums for free. That's it, no other way to get the scrolls.
