TOPIC | Screenreader-friendly invis. characters?
Hi! I'm working on a columns layout that's using invisible characters for spacing purposes, but I want it to not be super annoying to people using screen readers. I know that different readers may handle punctuation in different ways, but is there something that's generally ignored? Underscores? Quotation marks?

@velvetpaws most characters are read by at least one screen reader (or are skipped but add a long pause), but double space characters are apparently treated like normal spaces for most readers (link here)! they turn into question marks in forum posts (maybe to avoid spam??) but are fine in dragon bios (disclaimer, i personally don't use a screen reader, but i tested this on windows 11's default reader and it works fine! most computers/phones have a default reader you can use for testing [emoji=rainbow size=1])

Trying an em-space: Test...  test...  test...

Hey, didn't even need transparency! :D I'll see if I can figure out a screen reader to see how this sounds, but the suggestion was super helpful. Thanks, @stressparticles!
