Dragon Share

Basic gets a bad rep. It's a gene, but it is considered "geneless". Dragons with Basic in any of their gene slots are valued lower than others, even if they have really nice colors. So I would like to bring attention to Basic - give it the appreciation it deserves! It looks really nice sometimes, better than genes would. Some dragons are too busy and Basic can be the perfect option as a simple color. Sometimes you just want to admire the pretty colors and other genes get in the way. Let's give it up for Basic everybody! Gosh I LOVE basic!! I have a hard time with being overstimulated from genes, I find they often get cluttered, so I tend to go towards simple ones like basic, safari, shimmer and the lot. I often have tertiaries basic. <3 This is my Custom Progen, Kari!! She will always be triple basic. I love her just as she is. He's mostly basic with safari secondary. I love the subtlety of Safari. His primary and tertiary will remain basic. <3 [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/dragon/30794208][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/rendern/350/307943/30794208_350.png[/img][/url] And UUGGHHH while we're at it, I just wanna go on a bit about genes, especially the tertiaries on G1 dragons. Like 'cmon it doesn't need ALL genes to be visible and visually potent to be special <3 Basic G1's can be beautiful too <3 It's a shame such wonderfully perfect dragons are judged so harshly just because that tert doesn't match. It doesn't need to, leave it basic!! <3

My custom progen has been basic for 10 years. Wow!! your progens are so pretty. you chose fantastic apparel that compliment them so well!
I agree with your rant about terts, too. I left it out of the OP but I think that G1s can look amazing even if their tertiary color isn't perfect. There's a stigma against dragons having Basic as their tertiary gene because it means they aren't good enough and i disagree! even a dragon with perfect matching colors or XXX can look worse with a tertiary gene ><

wow i love these guys so much! their simple colors are accentuated perfectly by their apparel :D
And that imperial especially, gosh. White basic is one of my weak spots. he's perfect as he is because i recognized the colors and design immediately as Haku haha

There are some dragons that just don't need genes to be perfect, I hatched that radiation boy about 6 months ago to make me realize that, and he's perfect to partner with Noxious Coralclimber! you're absolutely correct too -- basic tends to work the best with fandragons

Thank you for your compliments on my kiddos. I've had Aralyn for as long as I can recall. There's something just so captivating about her colors.

Now your dragons... gosh. You've mastered the Basic gene combos on them. I think Neon is my absolute favorite here, that accent is unbeatable.
But Zibel is a very close second. His whole vibe is impeccable, I love me an XYZ that can work its colors and that primary/tertiary are a great match.

Oh that guardian reminds me of my random progen before I started scattering him! He was Leaf/Brown. The green brown combo is nostalgic to me haha

I'm crying over LostLuck though, good lord her colors. An XXY G1 ? and DOUBLE PEARL??? you're right that she's perfect as is, man her accent and apparel just add so much
