Well, on the female pose, you can see the back of the wing and it actually follows the primary gene

Unlike in pearlcatchers, whose back of the wings seem to follow the secondary

and so do wildclaws

I think dusthides are the only breed to have this happen? It might be a way to remark their ability to become a ball

Yep, according to the gene bug reports thread for them, the showing of the primary gene on the outside/back of the wings is intentional. It's like a cover or plating on the outer part of the wing. This is also why bee is not shown with transparency like it usually is- because the back part of the wing is covered with something opaque so you can't see through it.

i did notice that! i personally really like it since i think it helps blend the primary and secondary a little bit. obelisk (at least f pose) has the points of the wings match the primary but not the backside of the wing, and i think it helps to balance everything.

Yeah I noticed that too when they released. At first I thought it was a bug, but apparently not. While I can understand why staff might have done it, the wings irrationally bug me. It looks… wrong when my brain is used to seeing the secondary colour on the other side of the wings.

Now that it's been pointed out to me, I actually kind of really love it. It makes me like them even more knowing staff put that kind of thought into the design.

It's a design choice I absolutely adore. While I do think I'd have preferred they have no wings, the lack of transparency really clicks with me. It adds to their sense of bulkiness: those wings aren't thin and transparent, they're thick and tough!

I love this, yeah! I want a Dusthide with a dull primary and tert and then a brightly-colored secondary to flare like a threat display.

I notice this too - I thought it was a really cool touch :)
