Nest Nine: Matching Monotones
The hatchlings turned out so cool! Sorry for the bit of delay on this one, went on a small last minute vacay to enjoy the sudden sunshine! Nest name theme this time is the names of cats at my local cat shelter because of all the jaguar/rosette in this batch. I know its a bit of a meme but shelter cats really do have the most hilarious names, I didn't even use the silliest ones this time around (shout-out to the huge fat cat named double-wide kramer I stumbled upon)! Without further delay here is the largest sibling batch yet!
First up we have Olivia. She definitely got the funkiest colour combo out of the batch with Pink/Orca/Oilslick making her a bit of an odd one out. Honestly if it wasn't for the shot of yellow that Noxtide added to her wings it would have worked out great I think. The purple that gets added in by the Jaguar looks really cute! She is rocking her Jaguar/Noxtide/Ghost despite the funky colours.
Next is Gordo who, unlike his sister, won the colour lottery with Grey/Smoke/Ice. His matching Jaguar/Rosette looks really good with his matchy colours, and his Ghost tert being a stark white fits quite well! He also has rare shadow eyes which are really dark with only a hint of purple. He looks good and I think he knows it!
Third we have Pandora, with XYY colours! White/Mist/Mist and Jaguar/Rosette/Ghost. The purple that Rosette adds to her wings matches her eyes perfectly. Another stunningly beautiful hatch this nest. She is our third XYY of this challenge and gets to go in the notable babs section on the first page.
Hatchling number four, Bossanova, is also super matchy and gorgeous! A greyscale beauty with Grey/Flint/Lead Jaguar/Rosette/Ghost. His super pale unusual eyes give quite a unique look as well. He is just super sleek and aesthetically pleasing to me.
Our final hatchling is the only one to take directly after her dad. Jinx has Atticus' Python/Noxtide/Ghost with a really fun pink twist with the colours Pink/White/Dust. Pink python is suuuuper cute and I think her name fits her really well. Luckily for her the Noxtide didn't throw in any funky colours. She just looks great!
I am very happy with this batch! A large hatch is always good and a large batch with (mostly) matchy and beautiful babies is even better. We definitely had potential for more funny colours combos that added in blues/green/purple but we only got a bit of pink and it all ended up being mostly monotone instead. I thought this nest was going to be a little more like the crazy nest seven but it ended up well balanced and beautiful.
Prizes are being sent out soon! We ended up with a lot more Jaguar than Python, so much for the 50/50. All the new babs are up for adoption now! See you all next month.
