So what do you think the new friends are going to get? Ground/Fissure should pretty much be a given if they're indeed Earth, and I assume they'd get Rockbreaker too once the next fest cycle rolls (pun intended) around.
Personally, I want...spikes. Just spikes. If they just get Porcupine rather than a whole new gene for it, that's fine; I just want the option for them to be hedgehogs.

Aside from terts, I really want them to get chryso/mala. They're such cool genes and not enough ancients have them. In fact, I think only sandsurges have them, iirc?

Considering they look/seem to be from Earth they should get all the earthy genes:
Ground, Fissure, Chrysocolla, Malachite, Gembond, Shardflank, & Rockbreaker
They resemble Isopods so they should get Scuttle as well

I will not go a single ancient release nor gene expansion without predicting frills. It's a slept on gene that i'd like to see more of.
