I'm a bit on the fence with Mistral. It might be because I'm more drawn to linebreakers that are wacky and really add something to the dragon (ie Space, Chitin, Beetle, Angler, etc.), but I think it has some potential if used right!
I saw a fiery Banescale in the AH earlier with a grayish-black Mistral to look like smoke, and that I thought was super cool!

It's a dream come true. I'm always complaining about how busy banes are so this is everything I've ever wanted. Simple, clean, covers them up a little but not too much. Works with terts that'd otherwise be awful.
I wanna make a whole sky-themed collection with this gene. You can make skies, sunsets, constellations, so much!

I adore it! Undertides and Banescales are some of my more favorite ancients, so seeing this gene for both is amazing! I can't wait for these genes to expand to other breeds, too.
Also, I love this being poor man's wraith. I have so many banes I've been meaning to get wraith for that now I can finish them quicker with mistral!

It looks really good, but it's not on breeds I have many of... would've liked it on auraboas or veils. My hope is that when Wind gets their ancient, we also get a version of the gene on them.

Mistral is nice, but I wish it was part of the dragon more </3 though ig that would make it too similar to Wraith-

it's fine. it looks nice, but i have the same complaint about mistral that i've had about almost every other fest gene so far: it just feels uninspired. i guess, yeah, what else are you supposed to do for wind? maybe being underwhelmed this whole cycle has left a bad taste in my mouth haha.
i also don't really like undertides or banescales so i'll wait to use this till it gets an expansion.
