Roleplay

Tell stories and roleplay in the world of Flight Rising.
TOPIC | Pokemon: Metamorphosis (Ooc)
1 2 3
It started when Elio, the first champion of Alola, was overthrown by Regula of team butterfly. That was when the dystopian reality began.

As the new champion, Regula was quick to transform Alola into a nightmare. With their most powerful trainer at the top, team butterfly was easily able to take over all four islands of Alola. To secure her future as champion, she stopped the import of pokeballs into Alola and took away everyone’s pokemon except those belonging to team butterfly, leaving all of Alola in a powerless state.

It’s been three years since the start of Regula’s rule. The islands are ravaged by the guardian deities turning against team as a result of team butterfly’s influence. Some say Selene, friend of Elio, is still out there, with her pokemon intact, but no one knows where she is

All hope seems lost… but the legendary pokemon answered Alola’s pleas for help. They chose five young trainers and bestowed them two things: a fraction of a legendary Pokémon’s power, and a partner pokemon to end the dystopian rule of Regula.

To summarize the concept of this roleplay as simple as possible, this is a miraculous style magical warrior roleplay where instead of Kwamis, its legendary pokemon, and you get a partner pokemon as a bonus!

Kind of like burst warriors if you know your pokemon manga

Rules:
I don’t want to intimidate you away with long rules so let’s keep this easy and quick.

-general roleplay rules
-Yea go do romance but keep it minimal
-We all have lives. That’s fine! Try to post once per week
-One “warrior” character per user, and as many team Butterfly characters as your heart wishes!
-All legendary and mythical Pokémon are allowed except Arceus, creation trio, Giratina, Type:Null/Silvally, and tapus. Any of the loyal three is allowed except Fezandipiti, that’s probably the most random one out there…
-Partner pokemon can be any non legendary pokemon as long as one of its types matches the legendary pokemon chosen

Lore stuff
-Aether foundation is the only “island” not taken over by Team Butterfly. The president, Gladion, is doing his best to keep the foundation safe from Regula’s control. Due to this security has been ramped up to the max, with no one allowed to enter without permission.
-While all the warriors are aware of who each other are both in and out of transformation, the general public does not. They each refer to the warriors as “champions of ‘insert legendary’”
-Team Butterfly wants to steal the trinkets of the warriors and prevent them from freeing the islands from Regula’s rule.

Heya! :D This rp looks really interesting! Normally I would go for Lugia, as it’s my favorite Pokemon of all time, but with the recent announcement of Pokemon Legends Z-A, I decided I wanted to give Zygarde a try! (Also, apologies if it’s not open for posting atm, let me know if that’s the case ^^) Here’s my form; feel free to lemme know if I need to add or change anything! ^^ Character name: Zephyr "Zeph" Dimitrios Age: 14 Gender: Male Pronouns: He/him Appearance: Zeph stands at 5'7". He has a fair complexion, light brown neck-length hair and forest green eyes. He typically wears black and green clothing; the outfit pictured below consists of a black/green/turquoise hooded jacket, grey/turquoise pants, and black/white/green shoes. No matter what he wears, he always has two accessories with him. The first one is the most important; a green/black hexagonal pin, symbolizing Zygarde. The second is a pair of red and green goggles. (Both designs were drawn by me!) Warrior appearance: (Also got a gif version here, for the visor part of the helmet :) ) Personality: Zeph is a friendly, passionate kid who wants to understand and help the people around him. He prides himself on being able to notice small details and put puzzle pieces together in his head. He finds the act of puzzle-solving exciting. Sometimes, he gets the urge to ramble about things he likes or, well, anything. He doesn't want to be a burden to anyone, so he will often try to conceal negative emotions or weakness unless he is alone; he doesn’t always succeed, to say the least (especially when it comes to nervousness). Whenever he is angry, it is usually cold, meaning he rarely shouts or otherwise explodes. He'll only raise his voice if he’s desperate. He's fine with being alone, though being separated from friends for too long tends to fill him with dread. He always does his best to keep his focus where it needs to be, but when intrusive thoughts do succeed in invading his brain, it is fairly difficult for him to break free of them without assistance. Allegiance: Warrior Legendary pokemon: Zygarde Legendary trinket: Hexagonal Zygarde pin; he wears it on the front of his jacket Transformation words: "Aura break!" Legendary weapon: Twin boomerangs Partner pokemon: Tetra - Flygon (Ground/Dragon) / Male / Levitate Moveset: Bulldoze / Dragon Claw / Steel Wing / Flamethrower Backstory: Zeph was born in the Hoenn region, though his family moved to the Kalos region when he was only four years old, to be closer to his other relatives. His father is a gardener while his mother is a dragon tamer. He was taught the importance of caring for the environment since he was little, helping his dad in their garden behind the house. Meanwhile with his mom, he would be shown demonstrations of the power a Dragon-type Pokemon could hold, as well as how they behaved outside of battle. He admired Dragon as his personal favorite Pokemon type and did his best to help protect the environment, picking up litter and watering plants. When he first learned the legend of the Order Pokemon, Zygarde, he quickly latched onto it and wanted to know more. He dreamed of one day meeting the legendary, training a team strong enough to be able to enter Terminus Cave. Until then, he would study Zygarde and the basics of how to become a Pokemon trainer. He had a few friends, but because he was more focused on his study habits and academics, he was rarely able to make time to play with them. Like many other kids, he would occasionally hurt himself due to clumsiness, even getting dirt in his eyes at one point; from then on, he would bring goggles with him everywhere he went. He was also picked on by a few other children, but he got apologies from them a couple years later and made amends. Other than that, nothing drastic happened in his life until he was eleven years old. His parents brought him on a week-long vacation to Alola. They were mainly there to celebrate him getting his very first Pokemon, which happened to be a Trapinch. They stayed in a motel on Akala Island, and all was going well. Unfortunately, their trip was cut short when a large-scale takeover was initiated by a group known as Team Butterfly. His mother had brought only one Pokemon with her, while his father had none. He only had his new Trapinch. They decided it would be best for them to evacuate. They managed to do so, however, his mother’s Pokemon and his Trapinch were tragically taken away from them, and they were forced to leave without them. During the first couple weeks back home, Zeph was inconsolable. Not only had he lost his Pokemon, but he witnessed his mother’s Pokemon being overtaken and stolen. If she wasn’t able to keep her Pokemon, why would he be able to? Intrusive thoughts were rampant at this time. His confidence plummeted, and he almost decided to quit trying to become a trainer. He thought maybe it would be easier to be a gardener instead, or some other peaceful career. He would never be good enough for Zygarde... And then he thought about it. The chaos back in Alola. What state was it left in now? Why was Team Butterfly taking everyone’s Pokemon away? What would Zygarde do if Kalos was invaded like that? He doubted it would just sit there and let it happen. It was the Order Pokemon for a reason. It would restore order. Maybe he could do that too, one day. Definitely not on his lonesome, but still. He wanted to be part of it, to help change the world for the better. With that in mind, he slowly but surely regained his determination over the next few years. Maybe he would never see his Trapinch again, but he would be good enough to help as many people as he could. His desire was soon answered, for the very deity he looked up to heard his soul sing. A strange feeling in his mind compelled him to make the trek to Terminus Cave, despite not having a single Pokemon with him. Coincidentally, he happened to be going on a field trip to Couriway Town. He told his parents about the field trip and then decided he would sneak away when no one was watching. He didn’t overthink it; he just needed to reach the cave. On the field trip, he successfully snuck away and found the cave he’d longed to enter since his early childhood. He snuck his way around the strong trainers in the area. Amazingly, no wild Pokemon attacked him, nor were there any rocks to smash. It was as if something had taken care of that ahead of time, like it was expecting him. The gut feeling turned out to be correct, for at the end of the cavern was none other than Zygarde. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He thought he might’ve been hallucinating, or perhaps all of this was an elaborate dream making him think he was awake. When he decided it didn’t matter, he had approached it, dropped to his knees in awe and bowed his head in respect. Zygarde seemed to resonate with his desire to restore order to a place which had lost said order. It bowed its head back to him, bestowing a portion of its power upon him and a mission to fulfill. Zephyr was to become the Champion of Zygarde, standing alongside four other warriors who would end Team Butterfly’s rule and restore Alola to the beautiful, free region it once was. He would need to travel to Alola and meet these other warriors, as well as hone his new power. He didn’t remember walking out of the cave himself. From what he can recall, he had passed out from the overwhelming aura of the power he was granted, and then he woke up outside Terminus Cave, greeted by a partner Pokemon gifted to him alongside his newfound power. He found he was able to establish a connection with the Flygon who had carried him out of the cave, understanding him perfectly and naming him Tetra, which is what he would’ve named his lost Trapinch after returning from Alola. He knew what he needed to do from there. He kept Tetra a secret from everyone he knew, as his parents may not have let him go to Alola if he had a Pokemon with him for fear of having that Pokemon taken away. For his next year of school, he enrolled in an Alolan school as an exchange student and convinced his parents to let him go. It’s not like anyone from Team Butterfly would attack him if he didn’t have a Pokemon, right? He told his parents he would keep to himself and focus on his studies, hugged them goodbye, and boarded a boat to Alola. Since he didn’t seem to have a Pokemon with him and displayed having no agenda against Regula or Team Butterfly (not to mention no one thought a simple fourteen-year old could do any real harm against them), he was allowed into the region. His Flygon flew high above the clouds to avoid being detected, carrying the Friend Ball that came with him in his claws. Zeph currently attends school as an exchange student from Kalos, staying in a motel on his lonesome. He keeps Tetra safely hidden in his Friend Ball, which he also makes sure is out of sight in public places. He knows enough to ace his schoolwork while living a double life as the Champion of Zygarde. He always keeps the promise he made to Zygarde in his heart, that he wouldn’t let it down. He doesn’t want to let any of his fellow warriors down either.

Thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it! :D I always struggle when it comes to giving stories fitting titles, so I feel you TvT I'm sure whatever you come up with is gonna be great! It can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. If you want suggestions, I can try to give a few ideas (ex: Regula's Rule?), but if not, that's fine too!
(I'm also now subbed to the thread :) )

Character name: Mira Undine

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Pronouns: She/They

Appearance: She has shoulder length silky hair that is dyed dark blue. While she’s naturally pale, excessive time in the alola sun has given her a sun kissed tan. She wears rid rimmed glasses most of the time, as she’s extremely nearsighted

Warrior appearance: A deep blue mask conceals her upper face and her hair is tied back into even pigtails. Her sleeves end in a widened cuff resembling Kyogre’s wings, and around her waist is a skirt resembling kyogre’s tail

Personality: She’s mild mannered and even keeled most of the time, her anger being slow to build. Being an older sister, she was raised to be responsible and protective, always putting forth a perfect girl persona. Being a warrior lets her be much more wild, where she really lets out her frustrations in a fight. Once she really snaps there’s really no calming her down until she’s burned through her frustration, and she can hold a grudge for a lifetime

Allegiance: Warrior
Legendary pokemon: Kyogre
Legendary trinket: A necklace with a small blue orb on it (think like the one from ORAS)
Transformation words: Torrential Downpour
Legendary weapon: A dual headed Trident
Partner pokemon: Mudkip

Backstory: Mira was born and raised in the Hoenn region in Sootopolis city, where she studied local legends and the wild water type Pokémon. She was one of the best swimmers in the town, and was a talented free diver. Eventually while diving, she met her partner Mudkip, who joined her in near everything she did. When She was 16, she left home to work at the Aether foundation with her parents support and permission, but when team Butterfly took over, she ended up being forced to leave due to safety concerns. She now wants to create a safe place for herself in Alola, where she can live peacefully with mudkip and study water types in peace.

She tried to keep her mudkip hidden, but eventually it was captured by team butterfly, leaving Mira feeling bitter and angry and wanting nothing but revenge and a desire to defeat anyone who opposed her wish of a safe and peaceful life. The same kyogre she worshipped growing up responded to these desires, feeling her rage and her deep connection with the sea, granting her its blessing. While she perhaps won’t flood the world to realize her dreams, she’ll do the next best thing.

It can be as simple or complex as you want it to be. If you want suggestions, I can try to give a few ideas (ex: Regula's Rule?), but if not, that's fine too! (I'm also now subbed to the thread :) )
I was also thinking Metamorphosis since change is a very big theme in the plot. The warriors can change into magical forms to change Alola. Regula’s rule completely changed Alola into what it is today. Change is a very common theme throughout. @Druidofbees Accepted, and I love how you wrote about flooding the world

Oooo, that’s a good name for it! Pokemon: Metamorphosis! (Or take the colon out to make it just Pokemon Metamorphosis) It definitely seems fitting for sure, considering the themes of change in the plot and the presence of a team literally named Team Butterfly. Nice!

@DruidOfBees

Also, I like Mira already! Her backstory is neat, her motivation is interesting, and her having a Mudkip for a partner automatically gave her an A+ in my mind. I love Mudkip :D

Erica herself specializing more in the weaving of silk from the numerous bug/poison types that her family had over battling like her other siblings. Something that her Grandmother was extremely proud of as she had no one else to pass the family patterns or recipes down to as everyone else enjoyed other activities. Being chosen by a pokemon, especially one that had been bred more for battling than for the quality of the silk it could produce, was not part of her plans. Though it soon faded into a calm companionship as the little one assisted in moving the loom and fetching the different materials needed to make her pieces. Her favorite patterns had always been the ones inspired by the legendary pokemon their clan had personally recorded in the past and had hidden in their heraldry. Of the harbinger of the Darkest Day. She adored the faded silks that depicted the legendary in all of its glory, of the sheer awe and power that somehow managed to be felt even after the color had begun to fade. In turn she took more inspiration from her clans heraldic pokemon and began to branch out in her studies in order to better understand the pokemon that filled her with such awe. She began to examine other pokemon outside of her families poison-types for inspiration, until she felt that she needed a completely new perspective. Though that would have to wait until Grandmother and the rest of the clan knew that she could take care of herself and Spinarak. The search for that new perspective brought Erica, Spinarak, and her loom to Alola first. They set up shop relatively easily, renting out a hotel room in each island they visited so that they could weave or embroider in peace. That had been the plan at least, before Regula overthrew the Elite Four and everything turned on its head. When the duo of human and pokemon decided to leave a few months later to their next region they were intercepted by Team Butterfly. Erica, in an attempt to keep her precious partner was injured by a purposeful Slash to the shoulder. Wounded and bleeding out her last sight was of the team member taking her precious Spinaraks luxury ball off of her belt and it disappearing in a flash of red. The weaver was left bedridden in the hospital for almost two years as her wounded shoulder healed. Enduring surgery after surgery in an attempt to give her shoulder the range of motion it once held. Something that they succeeded in doing though it would never be as strong as it had once been. Her clan refusing to send support during her surgeries or reclaiming her Spinarak in fear of losing more of their pokemon, and Erica felt something inside her click. Some part of her understanding just why their clans heraldic pokemon had decided to plunge the world into the Darkest Day if this was even a fraction of the hatred and hurt it might have felt. At that moment those poisonous feelings seemed to take form as Eternatus blessed her with a fraction of its power. A power that she would use to weave Team Butterfly's Darkest Day.
