hm. disappointed in the genes. ancients already have other tertiary options that are generally better executed, this one kind of looks like an apparel item that was switched over to a gene at the last minute. ancients are faster to produce than moderns because of the no apparel thing, but this also significantly decreases their versatility re: customization, characterization, etc. i dont feel like adding apparel through tertiary genes is the way to address this and i would have preferred another small elemental apparel item over an expensive gene i won't use (which is unfortunate. the way the gene mimics the lightweaver would have made an excellent small elemental apparel item)
the introduction of 2 60 currency items, without an increase in currency drops, (in addition to two new skins per fest that are available through treasure only) feels punishing to casual players. as others in the thread have mentioned, festivals have always felt very forgiving in that players dont have to grind to get one of everything, but can choose to grind to get extras if they want. now it seems that grinding might become necessary to keep up with the increased item pool. im sad to see the casual feeling go.
all of that aside, i'm absolutely in love with the familiar + cloak, and the skin/accent artists went HARD this year, im blown away by how COOL they all look. excited to see how the snake/flower theme looks in future fests!
