@skittlekun A hatchery is a forum thread dedicated to selling the offspring of specific dragon pairs, making them visible to players browsing the sales forum, and not just the Auction House! The user creates a thread in [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/baz][u]Dragons For Sale,[/u][/url] displaying both the parents you're breeding together, and the offspring they've had that you're listing for sale. Those are the absolute basics, but there's a lot more you can do with a hatchery! [b]To get started on your own hatchery, I recommend reading:[/b] [LIST] [*] [b]SaltWizard's [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2735005][u]So You Want to Start a Hatchery (2)[/u][/url][/b] (a guide to the business side of things, and the general dos and don'ts) [*][b]Avifors' [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2374431][u]How to Make a Hatchery Thread[/u][/url][/b] (a solid tutorial to formatting your thread, for both form and function) [*][b]SilverDeath's [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/1183312][u][Guide] FR Abbreviations[/u][/url][/b] (extremely useful for understanding new terms and abbreviations used on the forums) [*][b][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2235393][u]Crowe's BBCode Compendium[/u][/url][/b] (explains the building blocks of forum coding, which you can experiment with for yourself. Experience is the best teacher, but you can ask for help here!) [/LIST] If you're still lost, you can check out other hatcheries in Dragons For Sale to get a better idea of how they're structured, and how different people make their hatchery stand out. If you have further questions about what something means or why people use it, ask! Specifics are easier to answer. [emoji=new friend] If you're wondering how people pick a price, see [b][url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/2959749#post_46018583][u]Nightwind's Guide.[/u][/url][/b] Dragon value beyond [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/gde/746775#post_746775][u]exalt payout[/u][/url] is ultimately subjective, dependent on the whims & wallets of internet strangers. Dragons are plentiful and can breed infinitely, so don't expect hundreds of gems for every dragon sold. The general advice is to search the [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/auction-house/buy/realm/dragons][u]Auction House[/u][/url] or past forum sales for dragons that are similar to yours, and compare your hatchling to the dragons you find. Not only does this tell you how common your dragons' colors and genes are, it's good to see what the other sellers believe these dragons are worth. (Remember, the AH shows dragons [i]for sale,[/i] not the ones successfully sold!) Some guides use "price calculators," which tells you to increase or lower the price of a dragon based on certain traits. [b]I [i]do not[/i] recommend using them.[/b] These calculators cannot account for every detail that makes a dragon appealing, and will not necessarily reflect what a real person may or may not be willing to pay.
