I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but I had a question regarding pose differences in the art for harlequin. (Edit: ok lol yep. See: comment right above mine. Hi Nukleer!) It seems that with each breed, one pose has a full "mask" while the other pose simply has a sort of "eyeliner" detail. This appears to be an intended feature of the gene, where one pose gets the mask and the other gets the eyeliner. However, which pose gets which pattern is not consistent across all breeds. Example: Bog M: eyeliner Bog F: mask Compare that with wildclaws WCM: mask WCF: eyeliner Is it intended for each breed to have a different "sexual dimorphism" (for lack of a better term)? Or was it intended for all F poses to have one pattern and all M poses to have the other? (Edit 2: To be clear, for those reading, this isn't just a discrepancy with one breed. Which pose gets each face pattern switches across multiple breeds. Guard M has eyeliner, Coatl M has the mask)
Looking at your examples, the whole gene is actually displayed differently depending on the pose. Not just the mask. Look at the arms and legs. One pose has the markings on the arms, with solid colored legs, while for the other pose it is the exact opposite. So it is absolutely intended that the gene displays differently, just now sure how the differences were decided as it isn't a simple male or female versions.
Counterpoint: most of the body has the same markings on every breed, on the same sides. The gene doesn't have bilateral symmetry like most other genes do, instead it is asymmetrical on either side of the dragon, similar to its namesake harlequin pattern. All dragons I've seen so far have the dark solid patch on their right arm, and the diamond markings on their left arm, and vice versa for the legs. I think this is a really cool and unique feature to have :D The mask vs eyeliner part, however, doesn't seem to be consistent. So I am also curious what determined how they decided which gender got each feature for each dragon lol (unsure if this has all been already said, just browsing through the thread and noticed this)

This appears to be an intended feature of the gene, where one pose gets the mask and the other gets the eyeliner. However, which pose gets which pattern is not consistent across all breeds.

Example:

Bog M: eyeliner

dragon?age=1&body=135&bodygene=170&breed=14&element=7&eyetype=12&gender=0&tert=75&tertgene=0&winggene=170&wings=135&auth=7e627eb825882ef2598c9747baf8008610357c89&dummyext=prev.png

Bog F: mask

dragon?age=1&body=135&bodygene=170&breed=14&element=7&eyetype=12&gender=1&tert=75&tertgene=0&winggene=170&wings=135&auth=c5def88e0fe9b036673cdad577563630889133b9&dummyext=prev.png

Compare that with wildclaws

WCM: mask

dragon?age=1&body=135&bodygene=170&breed=10&element=7&eyetype=12&gender=0&tert=75&tertgene=0&winggene=170&wings=135&auth=5979bd06f6e8a3f14319a46364e04b60a6200794&dummyext=prev.png

WCF: eyeliner

dragon?age=1&body=135&bodygene=170&breed=10&element=7&eyetype=12&gender=1&tert=75&tertgene=0&winggene=170&wings=135&auth=c1614f8bbed0bf144a876546fcfbbf5c3fed8b82&dummyext=prev.png
