Though he’s part of an Arcane clan, he still shows a level of respect and reverence to the Lightweaver, hence his familiar being a Lightweaver statue. Some may interpret this as not being loyal to the Arcanist, but in reality he absolutely is; he just also recognizes that he is a light element Imperial, aligning him with the Light flight moreso than some others in being a breed created for it. If it came to genuinely picking sides in a conflict, he would still choose to fight on the side of the Arcane, even if actually battling is something he would prefer to avoid. His vision fails him somewhat as a result, rendering him a bit nearsighted, but that is moreso due to external factors– like often getting pollen in his eyes– than just being old. Befriending a Slight Eyewing has been beneficial to him, as it can alert him to things he otherwise might not see in the distance. As a bonus, they even have similar colors! He’s named it Seraph because he sees it as somewhat of a guardian. The top two Veil boys don't have really any more lot Horatio (the Skydancer) has his owl to help him around the ship he lives on. (Plus he kinda got him in the first place to match with teh other bird familiars on the ship but they've really bonded since then!)
