I’d like to call out The Magnus Archives for:

5. Making me think things like “the table’s going to EAT HIM” or “she’S WORMS” or “that spider mindmelded with the cat”

And now I just want to make fandragons of all of them, especially the fear entities, even if it means 15 potential breeding projects. Typically, I only collect G1s, but on this occasion I’d be willing to breed imperials for my purposes because I want very specific, and likely very expensive, colors that just aren’t practical for my perpetually near-broke self. How much would a berry/berry/cream g1 cost even if it existed? The answer is [b]3 much 5 me[/b]

The Dread Entities can be loosely defined as follows, per Robert Smirke’s list:
• The Dark. Also known as Mr. Pitch or The Forever Blind. A manifestation of the primal fear of the dark and what might lurk within it. Thought to be one of the oldest fears.
• The Desolation. Also known as the Lightless Flame, The Torturing Flame, The Devastation, and Blackened Earth. Destruction for destruction’s sake. Presides over the fear of pain, loss, burning, and destruction.
• The End. Also known as Death or Terminus. The fear of death, patient and inevitable.
• The Eye. Also known as the Beholding, the Watcher, or the Ceaseless Watcher. Feeds on the fear of being watched, secrets exposed, of being known. An insatiable desire to know and see all, even at risk of destroying oneself.
•The Lonely. Forsaken, The One Alone. The fear of isolation and being cut off from the world.
•The Stranger. Also called I Do Not Know You. The fear of the unknown, that things are not what they seem. Don’t trust the mannequins.
• The Flesh. Also known as Viscera. A newer fear, thought to be the manifestation of the fear of animals bred for consumption, emerging in the Industrial Revolution. Body horror, mutilation, the body twisted and reshaped into the unnatural.
* The Hunt. Very old. The fear of being chased, hunted.
* The Buried. Also known as the Center, Choke, Too Close I Cannot Breathe. Claustrophobia and the fear of being underground and unable to breathe.
* The Corruption. Also known as Filth, the Corrupting Rot, the Hive. Fear of corruption, disease, and filth. Manifests as bugs, mold, rot, decay, and infection. Not for the trypophobic.
* The Spiral. Also known as Esmentiaras, the Deceit, It Is Not What It is. The fear of madness, of being unable to trust your own mind and perception.
* The Slaughter. The fear that pain will come, without knowing when, how, or where it will come from. Pure and unpredictable violence for the sake of violence.
* The Vast. The Falling Titan. The fear of one’s own insignifigance in the universe, and getting lost in vast spaces. Includes thalassophobia.
* The Web. Also known as The Spider, the Mother of Puppets. The fear of being trapped, trapped in the machinations of others, controlled. Your will is not your own or you’re being manipulated. Lots and lots of spiders and webs, arachnophobes not advised.
