Most of his materials come from the marketplace but if he wants the top quality, Pyrite travels to the Shifting Expanse. His two prized inventions are his mecha-golem and the mecha-boots he crafted for his mate, Saphira.

Saphira's story is a sad one. At the time of her birth, Saphira's egg was too close to a spire and she absorbed a high amount of energy. It gave her the ability to generate her own lightning but unfortunately crippled her legs and hindered her flying. Pyrite, her inventive mate, fashioned a pair of mechanized boots to help compensate.
