Adoptables

Hey hi! I'm going to be selling some of what I am calling Slinky Spiral adopts with the lineart down below and need some examples. I also wanted to gauge general interest and what people would be willing to pay for them. I will do three of these free for the first 3 people to post one of their Spirals on this thread and answer these two questions: What do you think is a reasonable price for these adopts? Would you like to see any other Slinky breeds? Additionally I may try to do one piece of apparel or something depending on if I think I can do it, but no promises. It might take me a few days to get these done as things are a little busy, but I'll do my best to complete these when I have time. @TheGrayGhost A reasonable price for these I can see is around 100g/kt to 200g/kt more if someone wants apparel or a skin/accent. I would like to see other slinky dragon breeds, especially Banescales. I can also see Imperials being a popular base. Definitely I'd say 50 to 100k for plain colours, extra for anything more complicated from there. And a slinky mirror would be adorable i think

Hi, some critique from a fellow artist - maybe try integrating the dragon into the slinky stuff (English? lol) It doesn't look very organic as it is now. Might come down to personal preference tho, so if you like it better like this, I understand, I just think it'd look much more natural.

Also when making more metallic textures I'd avise you to have a harsh hightlight somewhere- maybe put like a parallel to the lines right under them in the areas where the light hits the dragon. That'd make the art look much more high-quality. A good way to add that highlight is an addition layer (just a straight translation from German, I mean those that make the brightest colours when at 100, sometimes even going to full white while doing absolutely nothing if you make them black, almost every program should have them) and duplicating it. After duplicating, you make one of the layers blurry with the same effect and there u go, perfect metallic shine.

I'm not the best person for pricing, so can't really give advice on that. Something good someone told me once - time it took multiplied by how much you value your time/art. In my art shop I take 10 USD per hour

Hello! Thank you so much for the advice, I really appreciate it. I'm still pretty new to all this, so I'm always looking for ways to improve.

In regards to trying to incorporate the dragon into the slinky stuff more to make it look more natural, I think I'll definitely try that at some point once I've improved a bit more with my drawing skills.

And THANK YOU so much on how to do more metallic textures; I was rather confused on how to achieve that kind of effect, and your explanation gave me some good insight on how to do it.
