Tbh I'll probably be ignoring the rule about a dragon having to be unbred to partake. We'll see how long I uphold the rule about mates having to be from the starting dragon's flight.
So, to start, this guy was the cheapest G1 on the AH when I looked:

He came bred already, ungened, nocturne breed, ready to breed. Came with the name Winfrith. Crocodile/Ginger/Leaf is a meh color combo. He's water so I guess that's what flight I'll be looking at for mates.
Okay, and he'll be breeding with this jerk lady (she was perfect for this but came over starving, so, jerk):

She's got all genes exactly one step up from his, water flight because I guess I might as well use that to limit what dragons I can choose from, came named Yana. She's ready to breed so we just need to wait two more weeks for our boy to be ready. *taps foot impatiently*

Bred the two dragons today - they are on a 3 egg nest now. I guess that means I'm going to have to decide how to pick the heir. If I want to let rngsus take the wheel, I could do either firstborn or the coli endurance challenge - but I could also be extra lazy and just pick the prettiest one. We'll cross that bridge when the eggs hatch, I guess.

First child got a species step up, second got a tert. Also, the first child and the third child are XYX, which is neat. Too bad neither of them got terts.
