This is Patience, aptly named as they have been searching for their Charge for centuries, following after a Gloomwillow Guide. They believe the Guide will lead them to their Charge one day.
As their journey took them across a beach one evening, the Guide led Patience to an egg all alone in the sand. Patience decided to sit and protect the egg, and after a few hours, it hatched come midnight. The hatchling was strangely turtle-like and very adorable. To Patience's confusion, the turtle dragon did not turn towards the sea, but instead seemed entranced by the glow of the Gloomwillow Guide, Patience's halo, and their bioluminescence.
Patience tried to show the sea to the tiny hatchling, but they only wanted to follow them. Having never been creative with names, they called the hatchling Turtle, and continued on their everlasting journey with the baby dragon sitting on their back.
