The five gaurdians that had all taken to the heart of the Undye as their charge, gaurding different chambers, fell into a deep slumber after Tolkien, the fifth gaurdian sacrificed himself to cast a spell to keep the heart beating. The heart feeds off of the life force of the remaining four, estimated to sustain itself on them for a few thousand years or so.
I had to show him off here, because I don't have much to do with gaurdians but he's beautiful! I didn't have much apparel that didn't cover his intricate genes.
