original gang

ironically enough, Razza doesn't have much to show for when it comes to past criminal activities. at worst, he's a reckless drunkard that values his free-will over comfort and harmony. which is exactly why he was booted from his hometown. a quiet desert town, dependent on the income of their saloons and cattle ranches didn't have much room for a reckless man like Razza. however, when sober, he has a way with words unmatched by any other. angered and very, very lonely, Razza wandered from town to town, giving speeches, grieving the loss of free life due to laws, and presenting his master-plan... to band together as a group of highwaymen, living the freest life they could, running far from the law. these speeches were extremely persuasive- a rallying cry that convinced many to break away from society and join his group. mostly criminals, and those that have been persecuted for various things.

the greatest irony about Razza is that he still considers himself "leader" of the gang, giving the members orders and rules to follow.
this is bound to enrage someone... right?

DAY 0

Razza's first stop at the small town, Hesperia, had inspired a shocking amount of mutiny...
As the townsdragons gathered confusedly to listen, Razza watched as nine prisoners made their escape--
One dragon, a disheveled, battlescarred, purple mirror had somehow procured a rusty threading needle and picked the lock to her own cell. She freed the rest of them next, and within the middle of Razza's speech, they had already began rushing out, a wirey spiral holding a hat tight to her head waving frantically at Razza.
his plan worked! he quickly concluded his speech, albeit abruptly, and basked in a short applause before flying off to join the fleeing criminals.
the lawmen, who were irately occupied with watching Razza, hastily made for the prisoners.

Razza flew quickly, and as he caught up to a beautiful young fae at the back of the group. He wondered what she had done to get locked up.
she spoke with an odd casualness,
"wonderful speech, sir."
she grinned lightheartedly and Razza grinned back. He shoved back the "so, what got you in prison?" question... that would surely make this weird.
"many thanks, ma'am. just speakin' what's in my heart."
the fae seemed to like that response, smiling as she turned her head back to focus on catching a gust of wind that was beginning to pick up.
and, quick as anything, the fae was on the ground in a splat of blood. Razza flew faster, ducking below a few other prisoners to get in front of the group. On his way, he saw three others fall.

the lawmen must've got them.

Rulathorn, Shaami, Badari, and Arabella were shot down by lawmen. +39862t + 1g

------------------ DAY 1 as the highwaymen lose sight of the lawmen, they land in a barren patch between two skyscraping sandstone hills, covered in thickets, cacti, and wilting plants that served good coverage if they were being searched for. the purple mirror, who had swooped in front of Razza, named maple, made the call to land here and build camp using whatever they had. a few dragons hit the dirt as they landed, falling into a pathetic, exhausted heap on the ground. Razza had been one of those dragons, though he wouldn't admit it. ther other had been the spiral that had waved him on before. her hat had fallen in the dirt beside her, and the sand around her face was beginning to grow smooth and wet... she was crying. "now, now, there, Piccadilly," a bluish nocturne, Ysolda, said, stretching her wings, "don't get all worked up about this now... we're free!" "yeah, but Arabella ain't." an imperial with a similar blue complexion growled, "Let 'er mourn." "aw, well geez Beefcake, when y'put it that way, it don't sound good at all." the nocturne began jumping at a hollowed out, dead tree, uprooting it from the sand and laying it on its side. the imperial... err-- Beefcake? seemed to glow a little, "cause it ain't good. Shaami, Badari, and that Rulathorn lady got shot down, too. i saw em' splat when i was lookin' over my shoulder at the lawmen. it's a damn shame." [i]the prisoners grieve the loss of the four for a moment. DAY 1

as the highwaymen lose sight of the lawmen, they land in a barren patch between two skyscraping sandstone hills, covered in thickets, cacti, and wilting plants that served good coverage if they were being searched for. the purple mirror, who had swooped in front of Razza, named maple, made the call to land here and build camp using whatever they had.
a few dragons hit the dirt as they landed, falling into a pathetic, exhausted heap on the ground. Razza had been one of those dragons, though he wouldn't admit it.
ther other had been the spiral that had waved him on before. her hat had fallen in the dirt beside her, and the sand around her face was beginning to grow smooth and wet...
she was crying.
"now, now, there, Piccadilly," a bluish nocturne, Ysolda, said, stretching her wings, "don't get all worked up about this now... we're free!"
"yeah, but Arabella ain't." an imperial with a similar blue complexion growled, "Let 'er mourn."
"aw, well geez Beefcake, when y'put it that way, it don't sound good at all." the nocturne began jumping at a hollowed out, dead tree, uprooting it from the sand and laying it on its side.
the imperial... err-- Beefcake? seemed to glow a little, "cause it ain't good. Shaami, Badari, and that Rulathorn lady got shot down, too. i saw em' splat when i was lookin' over my shoulder at the lawmen. it's a damn shame."

after setting up camp, Razza and Piccadilly both went to sleep by the fire. the rest of the highwaymen stayed up, laughing and telling stories until they fell asleep themselves.
maple and Sylvia were the last awake. they left camp to go stargaze together.

maple laughed lightly,

Sylvia smiled and curled her tail around maple,

Razza watched the sunrise before ordering everyone awake. he was growing thirsty... he wanted to move on to the closest town to possibly recruit and, first and foremost to Razza, stop at a saloon for a couple drinks. he was sure the other highwaymen would appreciate it anyway.

after a while of nudging one another awake, the highwaymen (or Razza... rather,) finally decided to head north, where the two they had recently robbed ran to- a town called Hookbeak's Cradle. maple, Beefcake, and Sylvia argued that this was a terrible decision and would risk them all getting imprisoned again, but Razza went on with it. the three followed reluctantly.

arriving at the town, Razza leads the gang straight to the saloon. he claims he thinks it would be best to have the speech there... after he's no longer "dehydrated". the other highwaymen agree, as they were becoming increasingly thirsty themselves.
