TOPIC | Autism Spectrum, hooray!
No idea what part of autism i have.. def not high function lol..
My partner who also has autism he has high function.

Anywho my side effects are memory, understanding, verbal speech and a few others ive forgotten along with a bit of anxiety. Along with some spelling issues gere n there.

Whenever im angry or mad i still make odd noises from the throat to nose like breathing out and making snoring or snorting noises (beats using words like swearing n such)

Or when people see me that ive never met id act weird or make faces i cant control or out of all just shy. If i wanted someones attention i just start poking or tugging clothes or weird faces.. something i cant control really.

I bugg the living heck outa my partner with that but even if we both fight about 1 or both issues we know we were meant to be with eachother but the price of having 1 high and 1 below average is a challenge. After fights we forgive eachother with buying junk food.

for me it feels like i have a split personality
For when im at home i feel relaxed and since im home 99% of my life home is a safe place, im old enough to have a house of my own but getting a job i want not some crappy and cheap pay job just bores me completely.

Now when im outside or go out id always need someone like my partner to come with me (this is where the anxiety starts) for simple jobs like go up the street and buy more milk n such its a big thing for me. Even when i had to take the buss to high school was a huge deal.

People dont know that i have it unless i speak out saying that i am. They would get shocked going (if you hadnt said anything i wouldnt have noticed)

Yeesh remembering my first scool days in the 90s was horrible. Back then they had little to no idea what autism was or if it was contagous. From early pre-school days i was put in a corner or shoved in the closet each day with no interaction and no friends.. didnt get to learn anything. Now from primary school almost the same as before. Put in rooms not learning or joining in with others and friends who leave you because parents didnt know about disabilitys still.

Ive been in the principles office everyday. Highschool was like living in hell... sure give her papers with university work and see how stupid she is and back in the empty rooms or cupboards. This is where i cant spell much and or know much since i have had little to learn rather then just in the dark by myself.

Zzz.. sorry for getting involved so much but you can see ive had nothing good from my side, i am now 30yrs old. Nothing else changed really.. as much as i pref to stay inside where its safe and quiet.

@Zeex

wow that's crazy, people in the 90s weren't educated about autism? if you don't mind, when do you think you noticed people being more educated on autism?

what happened to you though is really unfortunate, i hope you feel a little better now ):

People and teachers didnt know much about it like as they do around this time. Was a few other kids i knew with autism and asperges who got the same treatment as what ive had. Like even watching the news on how they try to treat people and kids theyy seems to not them equal as any regular person.

Interesting to hear you guy's stories!

And to recap on what @Zeex said, it's true that in the old days autism was treated and overall reacted to differently than nowadays. I remember reading parts of a book by Donna Williams - who was in the autism rights movement - and it made me shocked. In the 60's, having autism was misinterpreted as being... insane, psychotic, schizophrenic. Heck, in my family we have this self-help book about diseases n' such, and it stated that... ahem ahem, autism is only experienced in children and it's a part of psychosis related diseases like schizophrenia. That book was made in the 80's if I remember correctly. But thankfully now we know more about this woooonderful brain tangling thing. Thankfully.

I want to learn more about autism because I think that I might be on the spectrum, along with a cousin of mine. He was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age.
Autism is undiagnosed for both of us though.

Never got tested, but heard from several people (including doctors and psychologists) that I'm most likely on the spectrum. I have several family members that are on the spectrum, so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm autistic. Would explain a lot, actually.

I can faintly remember my folks talk to the docs in a shocked when they found out my early stages either at 5 or 10yrs of age, my attention span i was curious to hearing my mother crying yet i had no clue why. But the doctor said in his wn worrds that autism was a phase and as the child grows to adult they would simply grow out of it. Being age 30 i dont feel nor has changed a bit. Since i have had little time to enjoy my childhood oddly enough i feel like im a child stuck in an adult body.

The docs also thought i had adhd and asperges the way i didnt want to interact with the other kids. Along with the unforgettable tests they put you through both physical and mental..

My mother was with me on these horrible tests to confirm you have autism specifically.. i remember this too well it broke myself and my mother was shattered seeing her face from being in pain to try and complete such tests. The main one i get now and then is constant loud ringing noises, they did a test with sounds, i can hear dog whistles, mozzie zappers, anything a normal person couldnt, the docs tested from loud to quiet. As i herd 3 of the quiet ones they put the sound to full bull i threw the headphones off and broke them...

(Using folks old tablet that cant auto correct / posts more than 1letter and takes more then 1 press to type words, sorry for so many cringy typos)

Hello, semiverbal aspie here! Don't really like to use functioning labels for myself x_x Most of my problems are more social than anything else, but I do have neurological and learning difficulties as well as sensory issues. My interests at the moment are Pokemon and animals. ^^
