an unfortunate tertiary you say? why, that would be my fantastic custom progen and leader of the clan Tatooine of course, her colours being...
sand/crimson/green.
GREEN.
there's nothing i could possibly do with tert (nope, not even spines), and no way i'm going to scatter dear Tattoine away from her wonderful, carefully chosen sand/crimson combo.
so i got her a gorgeous skincent and i don't think about her green tert at all.
yup. not thinking about it.

not thinking about it--
(Pre-ramble apology- I am on mobile and clueless and cannot images. Darn and blorst.)
Naah, brosis, there’s gotta be a way to make this work. Green is complimentary to red, and adjacent to yellow/brown. I’ve been scrying this girl for a bit, and it’s true nothing quite fit with the Jaguar primary, but Filigree came close to tolerable.
So I swapped out Jaguar for Bar, to keep with your big cat theme, and I was like, yeah, here we go, it’s like she’s got on some lovely jeweled armor! New leaves aganst earth tones.
Moving on to the secondary, which is complimentary (aside- when we say colors are “complimentary,” what we actually mean is, “they hate each other, but in a good way.”) Most of the deep, semisolid patterns look at least tolerable, including the Stripes she’s wearing now. Some of the more complex patterns incorporating blue into the crimson are intriguing- Morph was my favorite of those, followed by Spinner and Trail, which were interesting but edging on too busy. Filigree on Butterfly runs a heavy risk of guilding the lilly. Not intolerable, but the combo is so busy that nothing stands out. Toxin is... better off not being mentioned in this case.
Moving on to your expensive options (besides Butterfly which I’ve already mentioned)- Alloy’s another deep semi-solid, which also incorporates cool-range colors with that deep violet. Nice, but I’m not sure I’m sold on it. Facet is... another one I’m not completely sold on, but it echoes the yellow from the green, instead of the blue, and I think it’s the only one, so if you want to lean into warm-range colors instead of cool, that’s your bunny. (IMO, Stained is better left off complimentary pairings- put them next to each other, they fight for dominance; mix them together, they turn to mud.)
My favorite, though? Shimmer. It’s got that deep, deep red, and the gradiation is complex enough not to be boring, subtle enough not to overwhelm. And that bright green Filigree pops against it like a lantern.
All that said- I stuck with Bar for a primary because it’s more forgiving of clashing terts than Jag while still being big cat inspired, and I wanted to keep her looking like Your Girl.
But if you’re not married to the feline aesthetic, and would rather dump the greater share* of your cash on one primary instead of a tert and/or a secondary- Iri Sand is highly underrated. It incorporates both green and rose tones, which will do a lot to bring together that warring tert and secondary. Experiment with tert/secondary combinations, or even leave the secondary as-is, and see what you get. I’m seeing a lot of decent-to-nice combos, and green capsule against sand iri is genuinely attractive, as is green opal (but there again- $$$.)
For your Solid Gold Top-Hat option- Iri/Shim/Filigree literally brought a tear to my eye.
