the fact that her tert color was flint was so disheartening. i kind of wanted it to be the same color as her primary, which would've looked so much better with her current tert gene!

I'm seeing a lot of beautiful scries for Misfortune, starting from the first page already, so I think I'll just say that I agree with a lot of those! She's a pretty girl. ♥
When it comes to my own dragons though, I don't have many with bothersome terts (well, maybe my progens or their kids, but I don't plan to gene them at this time). However, the one that I thought of seeing this thread was my sweet girl Eden! I bought her as a newbie, so I missed the Basic tert, but [i]Abyss[/i] doesn't quite match her aesthetic. It does have amazing pastel goth-like options though, and with a regening she would even qualify as shade-touched, I think!

The thing is... I decided that instead of putting money into that or being bothered by it, I think I'll take advantage of the "hidden darkness"! Lore pending, but as she's been called very calming before, I think I'll make it a metaphor of overcoming bad things. Who knows.

I loved her colors, and assumed I would have no trouble finding genes for her. My first "big savings goal" was to get her jaguar. Her tert was mist, a subdued light purple, which would go just fine with brick and fuchsia, right?
Wrong. I could not find a single Gene combo that made it work. Runes looked dull. Contour and underbelly looked out of place. Even stained didn't work - it made her look faded and flat. I was resigned to leaving it basic.
Then Firefly arrived. It was perfect. I immediately began stockpiling roaches and scouring the lava pools for a firebug. Today, I found one.

My progen, Jade! I loved her colors! Sea foam and avocado! But her tert was... blood. I... I had no idea what to do with it. But then I discovered thylacine. She’s now my red leaf lettuce child. The rest is history. (Idk if this will work but just look at my pfp if you don’t see it)
