I really want to get 325g to buy stuff for a dragon, but I'm not sure on other ways I could save up.

The way I like to do it is I'll make a post in the forums asking about trading treasure for gems!! (1000T = 1G) I've managed to save over 1500g this way ^^

Aside from just buying them with real money, you can:
- exchange treasure for gems in the item sales forum
- sell things you don't need on the auction house for gems
- send (leveled) dragons to other flights that are pushing for dominance in exchange for gems
- open golden or gilded chests found from bonding with familiars or digging
- sell art or other services in exchange for gems
There are probably more ways, but this is how I make gems generally.

put the gems in your vault and forget about them and then later on, you can add them in and then BOOM. Ya gem rich
