@Jellybelly

That was so lucky and nice for sure ^^ I hope they survive for as long as possible. I'm now seriously considering your challenge even though I'll probably regret it at times if I start. But as long as I can keep my other dragons I might have the strength for this.

@Jellybelly I decided to actually do this. :D Here's my founder: He's a Mantis/Denim/Latte that I hatched out of a nocturne egg. He's got ice eyes, which is pretty, but his tert is kinda hard to work with. :/ Off to find him a mate 8D EDIT: there were only 4 ice gen1s under 10k and this one caught my eye: I've named them Sprout & Mulch (I know you customized so that your names are alphabetical, but I'm not sure how many generations I'm wanting to do, so I'll just pick vaguely thematically paired names for each generation & mate), I think they make a good pair. :) Now to wait the 30 days before they can breed... EDIT #2: oh ok if I read the rules correctly I can battle them? Now, does "die in battle" mean that the dragon dies in battle, or all three battlers die and I lose?

Tiny mini update before actual replies (to avoid a double-ping xD) : the hatchlings grew up! Now Bree and Brandy can join their parents in some very slow and cautious coli-ing while we wait... two more weeks for Benalla and Bearne to be able to breed, man.

@GeriVl

So many fingers crossed xD But yeah! I've seen some people wipe out their entire lair for a nuzlocke and I don't think I could do that (especially not for this variation because there's so much downtime where you can't do anything). So I just kinda partition my lair and try to treat the sets of dragons as completely separate.

@manysundays

Oooo, yay! I love your founders and their names are so cute! (I think Sprout would look fantastic with jaguar/safari/stained honestly)

Also re:battling, I'm personally holding off on them battling until they're actually on the nest, but that's a far ways off since you have nocs, so I could see you tweaking it so you could battle now but just not give them any scrolls until after they breed (if they meet the level requirements for the scrolls), and if they "die" just hold onto them until they've actually bred, even though they'll be dead for all other purposes.

And "die in battle" refers just to that one dragon dying, even if the others survive and the game "revives" that dragon in the next battle. It can be a major pain in the butt to keep track of, but I highly suggest lots of potions and sometimes outright leaving the coli page to "run away" sometimes before an attack hits. (Again because I'm a weenie. I've seen people add "you can only use the in-game run away option" or even "you can't run away but can hit main menu after a battle" and that's a lot harder.)

@GeriVl @manysundays (so much for not double-pinging! I felt this deserved it's own post) Well... that was startlingly quick. We've had our first death: poor Bree who stayed in battle just a turn too long. She'll be missed... @Jellybelly ok imma friend you in a second because I keep losing this post... xP

That's too bad about poor Bree... did she get caught up in a critical hit? I'm going to try to be really carefully battling and reset when my dragons can be killed in one round / will bring lots of potions, but I'm like terrified of RNG being fickle and my dragons inadvertently dying because of random critical hits...

On the other hand I can't wait until my founder & mate grows up so I can at least start dressing them. One more day so excited, haha!!

What do you think of the new capsule gene? I'm thinking of maybe incorporating it somewhere. I like your jaguar/safari/stained for Sprout but honestly I'm cheap and stained is a gem gene. xD

@manysundays

Okay!

Nah it wasn't even a critical, just really poor timing on my part. She and Brandy were against two enemies and I knew she could stand a hit from one of them, but hadn't done the math for her taking both hits like I should've, and of course that's when they do both go after her. I've been training Brandy solo since to get her up to level 7 with her parents and then I can have one solid team going, but yeah I've been even more careful about that! (I think in the training grounds you need over 64 health to take a critical from most enemies, so 128 to take potentially two criticals from two enemies, aaand 192 for the rare three enemy spawns. So I try to leave/reset if her health falls below that.)

Yes! I love dressing up my dragons, although I'm only finally getting the hang of it xD

I love it! I think it's got some pretty specific uses/colors it looks best in, so I might not use it too much, but that's how I am with most genes xD (I have a "Baldwin" dragon who's my in-lore brewer and stuff and she's gonna get it!) Also, very true. But the gem genes. They call to me.

@Jellybelly I had my first casualty! Totally my fault, decided to take a risk with Mulch and didn't reset the battle when I should have... oh well. XP Imma wait until they breed to get the heir and then exalt her right after. In the meanwhile I decided to go fancy with Sprout: Will look into getting some more bling for him. xD One more question on battling: what is the rule for battling with an already trained dragon? It seems like that'd be kind of unfair, but if that's allowed that'd make things easier certainly. Or is the rule to only train with dragons of similar/lower levels? I'm also playing with the capsule gene, I just leveled up my cauldron enough to be able to brew it, but haven't decided on who will get it yet... How's your challenge / week going? This week I'm making tons of money over the wind / lightning dom battle. :)

@manysundays @GeriVl Small update! (And a reply at the end!) I didn't manage to get Ailey a new gene before breeding her and Aether again, but they had some beautiful new babies! Unfortunately only one of them survived the coin flip.... Our firstborn and sole surviving child from this clutch: Brayan, a Lead Speckle/Saffron Basic/Eggplant Underbelly AFAB Mirror! (Exalted for 2800T) And last but not least: Bakai, an Indigo Speckle/Marigold Basic/Overcast Basic AFAB Pearlcatcher. (Exalted for 2904T) In happier news: Benalla and Bearne will be able to breed in four more days to give us the next heir! Hopefully they'll have better luck with the hatchling coin flip... (And at least the heir is immune to that!) ----- @manysundays Oh no! I know how that is though; just one turn too late and they're gone. I do hope you have more luck with Sprout and their heir! Also that is a wonderful hat, hehe Hm... Personally I'm running battles with just the nuzlocke dragons, whatever level match-ups you want to do with that. Like I could've tried to use Ailey and Aether to train up Brandy. I was just worried the enemies would target her, and since she had a lot less health at lower levels it wouldn't take much to kill her. Although maybe you could run some kind of guard-based build? I'm not sure. But yeah that's definitely just my personal preference and not a rule xD (As for like, already-trained non-challenge dragons, I probably wouldn't do it because I try to keep these guys as separate from the rest of my lair as possible. You could modify things though if that would make the challenge more fun for you!) I'm way behind on my brewing xD Just about to get to level 15 I think? But I'm definitely giving it to my bog girl when I can brew it! Hopefully someone in the challenge will look good with it because it sounds like a lot of fun to include the new genes and stuff. My week's going pretty good! I haven't been on FR as much as usual cause PAX West just happened and I've been going through con crash, heh. But outside of that and some very careful 'locke leveling, I've been training up some of my other perma dragons! I'm trying to get an Arcane Mire Flyer, since I was just using my progens before and Light isn't the best element for that. (If it's not obvious already, I tend to spend most of my FR-time in the coli xD)
