Whiplizards are a Spiral subspecies initially created by @Daelf that I helped develop.
We filled the form to register the subspecies, but the guide is being revamped and it may take a while before Whiplizards are thoroughly listed as "official".

Even though Daelf and I are both from the Wind flight, the subspecies isn't flight specific.

Here is the official lore:
According to legend, a long time ago, a couple of Spirals wished for their eggs to hatch baby dragons as swift and alert as desert whipsnakes. Perhaps Windsinger granted that wish, perhaps it was Stormcatcher or even Flamecaller. Perhaps it was only chance. But Whiplizards were born from that nest.

Whiplizards can be encountered in all flights, although they were first reported in the Windswept Plateau where their playful nature can fully express itself. One can know a Whiplizard by their striped body, with light Circuit lines complementing a colourful Skink pattern. The tertiary, however, hardly shows against light wings, so when a Whiplizard flies fast against a bright sky, they may almost look wingless. Unlike other Spirals who often hunt at night, most Whiplizards are fully diurnal.

Whiplizards’ favourite game is steeplechase: they fly as fast as they can, as close to the ground as they can, while dodging all the obstacles on their way.
They collect various kinds of toys from all around Sornieth, but their definition of “a toy” is quite broad. Anything they can play with is fine. Even a small rock will do.

All Whiplizards share these common traits:

Breed: Spiral
Flight: Any
Genes: Skink, Spinner and Circuit
Secondary and tertiary colours: Pearl through Orca, Sky, Robin, Spruce, Pistachio through Mint, Mantis, Honeydew, Peridot, Flaxen, Sanddollar.

However, they come in four different variants.

The primary colour range for this variant is Royal through Aqua, except Sky and Robin.

SomeoneSpecial is a proud member of the green variant.
The primary colour range for this variant is Jade through Olive, except Mantis, Honeydew and Peridot.

Eileen is a proud member of the orange variant.
The primary colour range for this variant is Cantaloupe through Caramel.

Breeding Whiplizards

No special condition is required to be a breeder. All you need to do is to have a couple of Whiplizards and to breed them.
Before making the subspecies public, we made sure there were distinct bloodlines, so breeding between Whiplizards is already possible.

Known breeders
If you want to be added to the list, ping me and I will edit this post.
