or like doing genetic experiments on precious hatchlings to rearrange their appearances o.o

it's mostly to try to get the imagination gong I guess? Also, if the colors don't always go together at first sight, there's a chance some of the duel tone genes (poison, toxin, skink, spinner, petals, runes, scales, opal, and to some extent the other gem genes) will make colors coordinate.
