Hi, welcome. I don't know if I really have any good tips, I kind of just started playing the games for money and buying all the dragons that I thought looked cute in the Auction house when I started playing. Although I can try and answer any questions you have.

If you'd like some resources on starting, check out this here! It has pretty good resources, but is on the Ice private forums (sorry anyone else who tries to look at it!). If there's more you'd like to know, there's always the whole Guide section on the forums!

I think the best way for you to start would be playing the fairgrounds as much as possible. Until you have a larger lair and can breed lots of dragons to sell hatchlings for income, that'll be your primary source. Also having familiars on all your dragons will help you get a small amount of treasure every day, as well as giving you chests as you reach the different levels!
