Although necro-ing threads is legal in this forum this one was originally created back in 2013 which means someone really dug to find this or used search to.

@KatzPetz @Starwindrider @Starrise

Just using "support" as a single response is not considered "legal" in this forum as these are not polls and just because so many players respond "support" has no bearing on whether or not it will be implemented.

The mods are constantly clearing posts that just say "support" and it keeps them busy.

With that said...

You will be pleased that the Auction House is in the works of being revamped.

Upcoming Revamp: Auction House

Status: Early Development

As we continue our trek through the intensive task of website optimization, we will soon find ourselves at the Flight Rising Auction House. There are a number of things the team wants to accomplish when rewriting this feature, and we wanted to give you a glimpse of where things are currently heading.

Goodbye, Message Center!

So, here's a fun fact: Almost 85% of the private messages sent on Flight Rising are sent by the Auction House. 85! Percent! Not only is that number ridiculously high, it also accounts for quite a bit of a performance hit. That is why one of our biggest priorities for the revamped version of the Auction House is to completely divorce it from the Message Center.

Our current plans are to hit the following goals:

Items purchased from the Auction House are sent directly to your Hoard.
Expired items are sent directly back to your Hoard. (this is already happening)
All successful and unsuccessful auction notifications are moved into an "Activity Ledger" inside the Auction House itself.
Literally no more auction house-related messages at all, ever.

We'll gain a substantial performance boost by cutting out these automated messages, and our busy merchant players will no longer groan when they see that orange box next to the envelope icon.

Consolidated Collection

Everyone loves having a successful day in the markets. What most people don't really love is spending hours upon hours opening sale messages to collect their earnings. Well, get ready. The dream you had last week is actually not a dream. It's real. Within the Activity Ledger, we will be implementing a means of batch-collecting the earnings from all of your current successful auctions.

This may have been our number one piece of feedback on the Auction House, and we want to thank everyone for their questions, comments, and concerns about it. We feel like you'll be pleased with the change.

Relist, Relist, Relist

On the other side of the coin, we plan to implement a Relist button in the Expired Auctions section of the Activity Ledger that will allow you to quickly and conveniently relist expired listings with the same parameters, but also allowing you to make modifications to them beforehand.

The Auction House will make sure that you still have the item or dragon before the relist takes place.

Better Search, More Information

Another much-discussed suggestion was beefing up the search parameters for buying auctions, especially for dragon listings. Where we can, we will be implementing several more parameters to help you better narrow down your choices. The final parameters haven't been set in stone, but as an example:

For dragon searches, we'd like to add the following new parameters:

Age (Hatchling or Dragon)
Breeding Status (Ready / Not Ready)
Dragon ID (To help you get really specific)

In addition to more parameters, we also want to provide more of the dragon's information in the search results. At the moment, a few of the ideas we're looking at showing are:

The dragon's ID
The dragon's current energy level

We're still investigating the other searches to see where we can make improvements, but our aim is to give players many more options so that there will be less time searching and more time buying.

What's Better Than One Auction House? Three Auction Houses!

This one's a doozy. Bear with us. Our current idea for this is: when you first visit the revamped Auction House, you'll be presented with three large buttons, each leading to a different section. Currently, those sections are: Element Auctions, Realm-Wide Auctions, and Private Auctions. Here is how each will function:

Element Auctions

This auction house will allow you to buy and sell auctions with only members of your Flight. One of our main goals here was to further enhance and enable flights to have their own unique economies, and to help foster regional camaraderie during the economical surges and pushes that tend to take place during dominance battles.

We believe the element auction houses will be great tools for:

Taking some pressure off of the fast and unruly nature of the Flight Sales forums.
Allowing flights to utilize the power of these exclusive markets to keep dominance-related dragon sales within the Flight, somewhat decreasing the need for "sniping" and making dominance more inherently competitive.
Further reinforcing a real sense of community within the Flight.

Realm-Wide Auctions

As the name implies, these auctions would be searchable and purchasable by everyone in Sornieth. This is how the current Auction House functions.

Private Auctions

Private auctions are those that are only listed for a specific player. Only the designated player will be able to see the items or dragons listed here, and other players would not be able to purchase them.

Our decision to add private auctions actually stems directly from feedback regarding our revamp to Crossroads. When we implemented Crossroads 2.0, it was necessary for us to remove a specific transaction type that was seen as quick and convenient toward many players--especially with regards to the Dominance playstyle. That transaction type was as follows:

Player A starts a trade with Player B.
Player A picks a dragon, and denotes how much currency they would like from Player B.
Player B finalizes the trade when they are able.

Our design philosophy for Crossroads was (and still continues to be) a focus on trading, which is why we aren't patching the above transaction type back into that feature. Keeping that in mind, we feel that it is a better idea to leverage the power of the Auction House as a means of moving massive amounts of dragons commercially and quickly, and both Flight-only and private auctions feel like a good fit for that.

The Auction House revamp is still in its early stages, but we wanted to share our design ideas with you and thank you for providing all the feedback you do. It goes a long way towards helping us build better systems that benefit the player base. We'll have more information about the Auction House revamp as we move closer towards launch.

This was posted in the Words on the Wind from March. We can expect huge things with the auction house coming. So have patience, age search is coming.

I think this would make it a lot easier to find what I'm actually looking for when buying dragons. Most of the time I look for adults that are either ready to breed or will be soon, and it would be nice to be able to do that without sorting through hundreds of hatchlings.
