So this is something I really, really want to do. I've been curious about Light for months, and while I'm pretty sure I'm a zap through and through, there's still "what if??".
I know I'm going to vacation in the Sunbeam Ruins eventually, but I'm kinda afraid I won't go back to the Shifting Expanse. I dunno, I'm kinda torn.
There's also the issue of my extremely Lightning lore. I feel like I should finish documenting it before I consider logistics of moving. I'll also need time to figure out how to incorporate the swap into my lore.
I'm thinking take the vacation in the summer sometime?

My friend is in Light- I'm with her right now actually- and she says it's a very nice environment, somewhat dom oriented and extremely welcoming. I don't think you'd have to change your lore. Maybe your clan decided to take a vacation just like you! The shifting expanse and sunbeam ruins are right next to each other after all.
Summer would be a great time to do it since Brightshine Jubilee is in June! You could switch in late May, get accustomed, stay for the festival, then leave whenever you felt homesick. Light is a nice place-- they'll welcome you when you come and send you off with bulging bags of glitter when you go!
I hope you have a great time in whichever flight you choose to spend it in :D

Ahh, I more meant the fact that my entire lair is corrupted by an entity of pure electricity.
Though I have several ideas as to why they would up and move— scoping new territories for conquest or something.
One of the biggest draws would be dom for me. I love conquest pushes, and while Lightning is extremely aggressive when we're in conquestmode, we're usually not going all-out.
... but that that brought up another point— I kinda want to be home for Thundercrack, and the cooldown is six months.

I suppose I could come up with lore reasons for missing Thundercrack and going for Brightshine...

In terms of lore I can't say a lot, mainly because my extremely lazy self hasn't gotten around to recording any of mine down, but there are entire lore groups in light, and a while ago there was a giant lore-based RP that spanned across multiple different threads. Very cool. So I'm sure you'll be able to find tons of people to help expand your lore while you're here.
You could always skew the vacation as a diplomatic mission of sorts? (Science Alliance!) Stormcatcher is science, Lightweaver is knowledge and truth, so they fit fairly nicely. (I've always thought Stormcatcher, Lightweaver, and the Arcanist would make good research and experimentation buddies)

Diplomacy isn't really something it understands |D
