Do you guys find this happens more when you name your own dragons or when you buy them from the auction house? I usually give mine pretty straightforward English names, but I've definitely seen quite a few like that while I was shopping around

This definitely is more of a thing when I name my own. Least, it used to be, as I mentioned, back when I still went with one naming scheme in one language for each brood.

I have two Coatl's named after Aztec dieties. They're not too bad for Aztec names, but at the same time, Tlaloc can be a bit of a tongue twister.

I was pronouncing that "kadzt" (as in, kahdz-t") before I realized I'd swapped the z and d...I suppose it'd be similar to, like "cossed" or "cost"? Except maybe with more of a z sound than an s?

But I do have some dergs named after things in Vietnamese, which are deceptive! They don't sound how they look at all! I know how they sound since I grew up with the language, but others might have trouble. >.>;
This is Tuyet (kinda like "thweek"). It means snow, and it's part of my Viet name (Tuyet Nhi)!

Asughaw because I just mashed two different words for "blue" together to get his name lmao (its a-soog-HOW)
