I've come back after a long time and decided to try to sell some of my old materials on the auction house. I've just been looking at the lowest prices and selling them in bulk for that cost. Is it better to do it that way or should I sell them in lower quantities instead of groups of 99?

TOPIC | Best way to sell on auction house?

"Best" depends on your goal. Do you want the least effort, most profit, quickest sales? These are pretty much pick one and go with it.
1. The least amount of effort is to hoardsell it all.
2. Next up is using the AH search to sort by price and then to look at the quantities involved. For example food points. Search for food points/type and sort by unit price, lowest to highest and sell everything by the lowest unit price per food point and type. For example all 4pt seafood gets priced the same.
3. Go through these guides and sell the items needed in the most commonly purchased amounts. That would be either 1, 5, 10, 50, 99 or whatever the full task/trade/Baldwin recipe needs. Depending on the item you'll get more profit by listing lower numbers than a full stack.

Baldwin Guide
You can also cheat by keeping an additional tab open for your Hoard with the "Highlight items" option in the Hoard Settings to do a quick rundown of the stuff most likely to sell for more than Hoardsell value and therefore worth putting up in the AH.
Also, some items used in Swipp/Baldwin/HDen/Festival recipes/event trades/various Grand Exchange trades are NOT highlighted unless they're currently active. You can find them here:
bananaquit tossed up this guide and NightmareJudge has been working on this guide for a while. The first is a quick item list and the second is an exhaustive list of trade items, Baldwin recipes and limited items. The first guide is missing Potted Cactus.

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.
Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
