Just wondering if anyone can help me. There are so many options at various price ranges. What is the best bang for my buck when it comes to purchasing bundles of 99 food off users in the AH?

if you look on the AH there is an option to specify what food points you are looking for (often the most common are 4points) but you will see many options at a lot of different prices, people change their prices depending on how fast they want to sell, you may also find that buying smaller numbers works better for you.
Often plants are the cheapest
Its one of those how long is a piece of string questions.

In general the cheapest food per point is 4 pt. foods thanks to players who train to exalt. Select a food type (plant/meat/etc.), 4 pt and then under "Sort by:" select "Unit Price: Lowest to Highest."
Hover over the selling price and you'll get the unit cost per food item. Divide by the number of food points per item (in this case, 4) to get the cost per food point. From there you can then search again with differing food points and food types to find the cheapest food per food point.
Additionally, one of the updates a few years ago to your Account Settings lets you give your Lair a Selective Feed Style.
Default lets dragons eat their favorite food first but Selective allows you to choose which of all the foods types they can eat first. For example I have mine set to Selective so when I feed my Lair I have them eat cheap plants first so dragons like my Skydancers eat plants instead of preferring to eat insects.
Hope this helps!

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.
Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
