I realize there’s an inherent gambling risk that I can accept, but generally speaking is it a good trade off to do the Swipp Swap chests-and-gold-ores for gilded chests? I’m curious but still starting out and finding it hard to justify trading out 100-125g worth of gold ore for an unknown, and the item reward list is...daunting to go through. But they look so tempting. ;_;
If it helps, I’d consider a decent chance of rare apparel or familiar worth it, or material return adding up to the investment cost once sold on the AH. Thanks in advance for opinions/advice!

From what I hear over on discord, ppl stock up on chests for special occasions, like their joining anniversary or birthday. In that case, opening hundreds of chests is very satisfying and sharing screenshots makes it a fun event for all involved.
I think ppl don't open gilded chests hoping for a chest exclusive item or fam, but for the fun of it.
Only you can know if, for you, 100-125g is worth that little bit of fun.

Zaviei That’s very helpful, thank you! Still figuring out what things are for farming vs fun! I’ll save em for an occasional treat, then. :)

adding on to that, gilded chests are currently selling for about 35g and from what I've heard from other users the items inside are usually worth even less then that, but if you're willing to risk that for the chance at chest exclusive items then it might still be worth it for you

SkyBlaze I didn’t even think of looking on the auction house for them ::facepalm:: Okay that’s a way better price, I’ll remember that!

Trading 100+ gems worth of gold ore for a chest that can be bought for 35 gems is a horrible deal. Swipp's deals are often unprofitable when looking at input goods' value compared to the received item's value (that is, selling whatever Swipp is asking for on the Auction House almost always results in more currency than selling the result of the swap though not all are this bad). Yeah, some of the trades are down right awful, like the gilded decorative chest swap.
The primary source of gilded decorative chests is bonding with familiars and receiving the chest as an awakened familiar reward. Also, digging can occasionally turn them up 'for free'.
Don't ask me what to do with them though, I've hoarded mine because I can [emoji=guardian tongue size=2]

Dagomor Yeah, I should have thought to check the AH ahead of time, I think maybe I assumed everyone would be opening them instead of selling them, but then if it was me the curiosity would make me mad! XD
