Hi so I found a problem and I've seen people use pictures from outside websites before (normally on profiles?)
how do I get the picture to show up? (Outside source like DeviantART /
Sta.sh, Google, etc)
or is it just not a thing you can do?
also if anyone has any good profile-coding forums can you link me to them?
I probably make no sense I'm sorry-

Flight rising forums and bios use BBCode.
To display an image:
[code][img]Image url here[/img][/code]
For example, this code:
[code][img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/layout/none/banner.jpg[/img][/code]
results in this:
[img]https://www1.flightrising.com/static/layout/none/banner.jpg[/img]
The image url can be hosted anywhere.

Help I'm trapped in a signature!

Adding on to the above post, some sites including
sta.sh and DA don’t allow images to be hosted elsewhere. In order for them to work they need to include a file extension such as .png or .gif, and once you have your link you can either manually type in the code tags or use the tree icon to add the image code above

If you already have the link for an image, it's really easy to post an image to forums and profiles! Usually when you see an image, you can right-click on it, select "view image," and copy the image link directly out of your browser's address bar. (You can also select "copy image location" which does the same thing.) After that, click on the little tree in the bar above the forum/profile text box, and paste the link right in there.
Try it with the first image in my signature! The one on the left has this image link:
[code]http://i.imgur.com/MMfFirK.gif[/code] If you copy the image location, that should be what comes up.
Two things to note:
1. Sta.sh doesn't work, like at all. It's awful, they changed the way they do image uploads about a year ago and all outside links broke. You'll need to use a third-party image host for your image. I prefer imgur.com, since their links last forever and their site is very robust. Even for images you found on a google search, it's polite to rehost the image (and link back for proper credit).
2. All image links will end in either .jpg, .gif, or some other three-letter extension. If your link doesn't have one of those, it won't work. Make sure you right-click on the picture and view image, that should fix it!
For more help with complicated bbcode stuff, like making lists, inserting links to outside websites, and fancy text, you can try [url]https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode[/url], which is a nice, straightforward site that will give you the right code tags for whatever you're trying to do. Please feel free to ping me if anything wasn't clear!

anything about resizing images?
@
Tristara Flight Rising doesn't allow you to resize images, since it's not technically hosting them and the BBCode isn't robust enough. You'd need to resize the image yourself, and then re-upload it to your hosting site.*
*If the image isn't yours, probably don't re-upload it anywhere public.

I believe
this still works for Imgur links, although I'm not sure since I haven't had to try.
