Per the guide, eggs are dropped only by the monster with the same element as the egg. You'll want to fight in the venue with the largest number of egg drops that you can battle the quickest in to get the largest number of chances: Forgotten Caves, Crystal Pools and possibly Harpy's Roost. Some venues don't drop all 11 elements so avoid those.
Or, if your battles per minute are so much higher in other venues that it cancels out the greater number of drops (elemental frequency works in your favor here) you may battle in other venues with greater success.
By spending my grinding time in venues that can potentially drop the most eggs I've raised my average egg rate from 1 every 2-3 months to 2 per month. Bear in mind that I coli an average of 3 hours a day with various L25 teams! That's roughly 2 hours in a venue I clear 5-6 battles per minute plus another hour when I'm clearing 3 battles per minute. Over a month that's 25k battles plus whatever extra I do for a festival/dom battle/NotN.
