TOPIC | Good battle stones for a mage dragon?
I've assigned one of my dragons as my 'mage' dragon, since it kind of already came that way and thats what I got it for. So my question is, what are the best stones to get for a mage dragon? I have already gotten the one that heals, an offensive one (a wind like one i believe?) and then the one that regenerates breath (For itself not others) Sorry I don't know technical terms. Pff. Still pretty newbie.

@dissolvedink The dragon you're talking about is either Airachnid or Ratchet, right? When they reach level 9, get a Discipline stone! It's an accessory stone that will give you a 50% chance at generating twice as much breath whenever you use Meditate. (I'm not actually sure if they stack for an even greater chance but I've got two on my mage, just in case.)

There are actually two healing abilities, Aid and Regenerate. They work slightly differently- one is instantaneous and one is gradual (but heals more HP overall). They both have their uses and my mage has both, along with the offensive Light attack (Bright Bolt) and the Contuse spell that she came with.

When your dragon reaches level 5, give them three Zephyr Acuity Fragments. They're Wind-specific stones that will each boost their magical power by 2.

@cynictis

Oh thank you! Yes Airachnid. Ive actually got the discipline stone! Just have to level enough to use it. I think i currently have aid (im on mobile right now so its harder to bounce around and check stuff) i will definitely get the fragments as well. Thank you so much for your help!!!

@dissolvedink

See section 1.6 in this guide for mages. Kiena has the most organized guide. Culex's guide is more interested in the glass cannon/STR build.

edit: wrong ping

I want to live in Theory. Everything works there.

Have you checked the Gem MP for Gene and Breed scrolls before buying an AH listing from me ending in 5g?
@Nightwind

@cynictis

@dissolvedink & @cynictis - Just to confirm, I'm the one who wrote that guide, and I did 200 tests with discipline and it worked out to be exactly 150 times I got double breath. So it definitely gives a 75% chance! Pretty great. :)

Also, just to add something that's not in my guide - I've heard that for PVP Regeneration is usually better than Aid. But if you're planning on using the mage mostly against monsters, I really suggest Aid over Regeneration - you're probably not going to be in enough rounds for Regeneration to heal you enough to match Aid.
