been on an asoiaf kick lately, after reading some of the supplementary stuff (Fire & Blood and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) I'm finally tackling the main series! Still on the first book though.

I got nostalgic and started rereading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz after watching the movie again. It was a big staple of my childhood. :)

halfway through `Marusya Boguslavka` by Ivan Bahriany. it's quite an emotionally heavy book about ukrainian history wrapped up into a satirical fiction paper.
the author himself writes so well though! there is a repeated motive of personification of things like songs, sounds, stars, and wind that act as observers of a sad unified city under totalitarism, but even despite the book describing something so heart-shattering, it always puts human spirit and hope above all tragedies.

The Gilded Wolves, I bought it in 2019 or 2018 (I don't remember) but lost interest and never finished, so I picked it up again two days ago lol. Don't know how I feel about it just yet, but it's not bad, I still haven't connected with any of the characters but the plot interests me!

Faery Tales and Nightmares, by Melissa Marr. It's her short story collection from about a decade or so ago. Half the stories are related to her Wicked Lovely series, and half aren't. I really love her writing, and just found out that a coworker of mine took classes at uni with Ms. Marr as her professor! Fun, random connections at synchronistic times!

noli timere tempestatem. tempestas est res pulchra. ama tempestatem et gaude in pulchritudine.
