Oh man, I remember buying Spore the day it came out, waiting for what felt like hours for it to install on a hand me down laptop my grandma had lying around, and then being crushed when my parents realized that the laptop wasn't strong enough to run it. Luckily my mom had a newer laptop that could run the game at it's lowest settings, and I was able to play before the day ended.
After that I was absolutely hooked, I played Spore constantly, got the Wii game for Christmas, saved up to buy both the DS games off eBay, checked the Spore website every day to follow the Darkspore creature contests, and even tried making my own Galactic Adventures(none of them were good but it was still fun to play with the editor)
Spore is such a weird franchise, and the ways it tried to branch out from the Sim base game to more narrative based mainstream affairs is kinda baffling, but it will always hold a special place in my heart, I even bought the game again on Steam to play it again!(cause Origin is a load of trash I refuse to install ever again)
I find playing with the creature creator to be a really good way for me to warm up my creative brain before I do writing or drawing, I'm on mobile ATM but when I get a chance I'll edit this later to add some pics of my recent creations!

I love your funky little critters! I keep forgetting that I can just let go and go hog wild in the creature creator, but I am guilty of getting the Pathological Cheater achieve with adddna '^^

If I had a Sporecast I'd share it! But unfortunately I'm unable to recover my old login information and I can only play offline, no uploading for me till I can figure out how to get my info back :(

Wow, I haven’t played Spore in ages! It’s such a good game, it really deserves more newer games in the franchise.

I remember back when Spore was new, my mom's old laptop couldn't handle it at mid/high graphics settings, so I played for years on low. Which wasn't so bad until I got Galactic Adventures.
I really liked to have Captains with wings, so I could skip hard parts of an adventure, but the downside was that the game would start chugging like crazy if I was flying too fast or collided with anything in midair.
I have a very vivid memory of trying to finish one of the "Valley of the Dragons" series of adventures, and having to wait almost five minutes for my Captain to finish falling through and against a patch of trees growing out the side of a steep cliff.
The first time I was able to run Spore on a decent rig it madr me so happy, I sometimes try to remember that, even if the fidelity is trivial for my PC now.
